    About that...

Some examples are given of cases where a violation for leaving a duty may be given:

Occurs right after entering a duty
Occurs when progress is not going well in a duty
Occurs when the team is about to be defeated in PvP
While I sincerely hope this refers to people instantly AFK-ing. The wording is um... disconcerting to say the least.

These changes don't mean you have to take whatever another person is throwing at your or griefing the party, doesn't mean you have to cover in fear when you see a sprout icon either. I would have to agree.

I mean, is it really THAT difficult to avoid being rude? I was in a Breach run where one of the alliance tanks was constantly shouting denigrating comments at one of the other tanks. half the people in this thread seem to condone that kind of behaviour, maybe even justify it as "friendly ribbing" or "constructive criticism".

I dont mind the changes, and I tend to talk a lot in groups, and havent had any issues, so if you are thinking you cant say anything now in groups, maybe examine what exactly you are thinking of saying in groups and how you are saying it.

"jeez, you even know how to tank" is not exactly the best way to put something. always surprises me that people claim spur of the moment utterance when you have to think of something, type it out and press enter. there is nothing "spur of the moment" about that. think before hitting enter, its pretty simple.

Playing devil's advocate, but there are so many ways around this, the people who do this probably aren't that worried about it.

If I interpret the rules correctly you can just mass pull now and if the tank tells you to stop and let him pull (if he doesn't ask you in a polite way) you can report him. Maybe the rules aren't that bad after all

I'd be curious to learn how, exactly, Square Enix intend to prove intent in situations where a player silently leaves a group at any point. Even if it happens repeatedly, I can think of a number of reasons as to why it may be justified to suddenly drop a group that is in progress:

    - The player in question has children who begin crying all of a sudden. Naturally, a good parent would immediately drop everything and go investigate the cause.
    - The player in question is a volunteer firefighter or similar role that can be called to respond to a sudden emergency.
    - The player in question has a spotty, unreliable internet connection.

That's just three examples, but I'm sure there are many more.

I am honestly glad this part exists:
Each player has a different level of skill, and in some cases, there may be a situation where the duty/content will fail. From the perspective of a skilled player in such a situation, a less skilled player may appear to be "adversarial/uncooperative/apathetic," but even if this is the case, it is not a violation as long as the player is playing appropriately.

For example, the following types of situations fall under the act of giving an advantage to the enemy (or the opposing team/players in PvP content):
"I don't want to heal because there is a player I don't like in the group."
"I don't think we can clear this anyway, so I'll just get hit by the enemy attack and go AFK after I'm knocked out."
"I'm going to join the opposing team as a healer and do nothing so my friends on the other team can win the PvP content."
If a report has been filed and the prohibited activity is confirmed, a penalty will be issued.
TOS say you are expected to reasonably contribute to your party and you're not allowed to stop doing your job just because you dont like someone. I will remember this if I ever run across a "you pull you tank" player.

Mass pulling before the tank, instead, is very polite.

Unless there is 2 mentors in there, if you're in a group full of sprout there is a high chance no one is aware that you can report such mentor.
Also how does it takes account when someone leave when entering and you leave as well because... The group is not 8/8 anymore?
As for the "duty not going well", as long as you don't say it I believe there is no problem about leaving a duty because of such reason.
Plus you can use any other excuse such as not having the time, it's said nowhere "You sign for 1h, you stay for 1h".

As long as the use of "You should" spares you from most of those rules, it should be fine.

Again, gonna play devil's advocate. If you can't tell a DPS to do their AoE rotation on mobs, then you can't tell the tanks to use their CD's to survive either. As a tank that does wall to wall pulls and does pick up all the mobs, I could definitely see that same "You pull you tank" person just not using defensives.

Wasting your parties time bei single group pulling isn't polite either.
