A lot of pre-WOW players!

To me, the games are similar but one is in the middle of a patch waiting for its next major content patch === and the other has its next expansion in less than a month. It depends upon what you find your money worth.

Tie that in with burnout, and you get a new player inflow. Ill wait to see how it lasts with the new expansion.

I quit WoW long before coming here: I logged in purely to RP and nothing else. Logging in to do WQs and grind Heart power was already not fun as it was, and that didn't count doing Emissaries, N'zoth stuff and Naz stuff. Shadowlands double downed and added even more chores in addition to The Maw and Torghast, which were two of the worst things I've ever done in WoW.

Gameplay wise WoW has been struggling for a while. What finally drove me off was mostly the narrative getting progressively worse, (While I won't say FF14 has the best story, it is, at least, ~a~ story) the playerbase as a whole getting more toxic...The straw that broke the camel's back was the lawsuit.

I'll always treasure the good times I had in WoW, but I have no interest on ever going back, barring a A Realm Reborn-tier treatment of WoW.

One thing, be good to those who are new to the game, in addition to those who still enjoy WoW! We're all looking for games to enjoy and there's no worth throwing shade at folks liking something you don't!

I just came back to Eorzea from couple of months break and I noticed there are a lot of WoW players joined/joining our FC recently. I know nothing about WoW but is there anything going on there? Are there not enough contents in WoW anymore? They sometime call themselves wow refuge but I am not sure why they call themselves as a refuge Regardless, it is good to see so many new players with sprout on top of their head!

So basically Blizzard has been a bunch of undercover ass grabbing perverts over the course of 10+ years. Yeah. Grabbing on the females asses and in a couple of cases (Not sure if legit) some men say they were be grabbed by other men and approached with sex advances. Never the less it has been this type of behavior, among other things that has gotten them in extremely hot water with the state of california trying to sue them along with other people trying to sue them as well.

Many of the players have been disgusted with Blizzard's behavior and have left the game in droves and came over to FFXIV. Now I came to FF 2 months before all the sex scandals just cause Boringlands was well boring, and now I am in love with Eorzea. But this is why you are seeing so many WoW players in FF. Some of us just want to play a game where the developers care about the game production and cares about the player base rather then grabbing on the ass of females and/or males employees.

What server were you on? I transferred to Wyrmrest Accord the day it opened and stayed there.

This is something that needs to be said again and again and again. It's ***good and important*** to treasure the good times one has in games; regardless of what it is. For me, it was the group of people I was playing with during a certain era of the game. I will always love and treasure those times and love the game I played then. WoW was my first MMO and I started playing it with people from a guild I'd been in since the late 90s, so we had a pre-built and awesome community from the get-go. Those were absolutely magical times for me. Times changed, I changed, and so did the game so I stopped playing.

I had a similar experience with ARR through most of HW. Even though I no longer experienced the magic of being new to MMOs, ARR hit that sweet spot for me and I found myself in an awesome guild; I was sold! Then certain changes to crafting/gathering happened in HW which caused me to not enjoy late-game play so I stopped. I still treasure the ARR and HW times to this day and wish I could go back to recapture the totality of those days; game design, a beautiful new world to explore, amazing guild mates, and all of that.

I quit MMOs for a while, went back to WoW for BfA and Classic, and had some enjoyable moments, but nothing like those I had in Vanilla and XIV.

In the end, to my eyes, Blizzard lost the love of design and joy of gaming while the SE team still clearly have it. That shows in every little thing they do and makes all the difference in the world to me.

More players joining the game is probably not a trend you want to die out. Doesn't matter where they came from.

Usually people who think FF14 is easier have only done the normal versions, or they didn't do it minimum item level with no echo so they outgeared it and had echo stacks.

Leveling is easy, but for your first class leveling isn't the problem, it's that you have to do the main story quests to get to the current expansion and that can take months.

The TLDR version: Blizzard harassment lawsuits and poor game changes/updates/patches. People are tired of their incompetence and moving on to other games.

I’m guessing quite a few of the “FF14 is so much easier than WoW!” crowd are the same as the ones who stated WoW was too easy for ages there I have no idea why it is essential that the game you are playing is miles beneath you and your potential, but some are quite invested in this while playing a game for years and consistently paying their sub. One of the mysteries of life. I wouldn’t pay too much attention to it unless they bring an interesting discussion to the table.

It is too easy. I do the story and then I quit for other games. Can't understand how you all play the same dungeons every single day for years AND pay for the pleasure.
