WHM is broken that's what. I think WHM is the most broken healer until sch is like level 70-80. And even then I think WHM is very disgusting and might be the better healer in 6.0, and that's coming from a devoted sch main.

White Mage is widely considered the weakest healer pre-80. It's embarrassingly outclassed by Astro at 70 and doesn't have much to compete with the bevvy of tools at Scholar's disposal. In genuinely difficult content like UCoB, Astro has Collective and Earthly for every single major mechanic. Meanwhile, White Mage doesn't even have Rapture at this level range. Even Benediction is outdone by Essential due to the latter's 40 second CD allowing for nearly five times as many uses. Benediction's only value is healing LD. It's not even a fair fight just how much better Astro is at 70. Scholar is no slouch either with Excog, Sacred Soil and Indom nearly on demand with minimal DPS loss. In fact, despite being the supposedly "broken" healer as you claim, White Mage only does marginally more DPS in UCoB than Scholar and is slapped by Astro.

None of this is to say White Mage isn't viable in this content. It absolutely is. However, to claim it's broken at level 70 is utterly absurd and shows a distinct lack of knowledge on how the healers play above a casual level.

That and WHM being called a prog healer shows how very out of touch they are. Square buffed SCH and AST to ensure WHM would never be considered the mandatory prog healer years ago...

i would call him the easy to prog on healer, he has tools that allow him to bounce back up when failing a mechanic or dying in a run(aka lucid + thin air) also among the healers he can push for no piety gear then the other 2 due to this. but if you are talking about party contribution based on buffs and debuffs sch/ast takes the cake ,whm true contended to this is if whm aDPS will outshine what their raid increase brings but ast has too many utils that sync with sch that are too good to pass on such stuff.(stacked shields and mitigations and bubles that align with major damage that comes)

Well, every healer gets lucid. And the flipside of that is dying wipes out lilies, while aetherflow and ED and other important cooldowns continue ticking even while dead (you lose seals and aether gauge but those aren't so essential to core healing).

That said, if you need to get rezzed and then rez others immediately, thin air is pretty nice, true enough. But aetherflow + lucid after dying or so on will let you get rezzes out too, and AST has cheap spells and best-in-class MP recovery on its end.

Now as far as DPS goes, sure, they'll likely go back and forth on which is best depending on the patch, but that's usually not thought to be prog as much. When people say "prog healer" they're usually saying that because they think a healer (WHM generally) has some kind of super healing or super recovery ability. And my issue is this. It hasn't been true since SE made sure it wouldn't be true in Heavensward.
