why FF14 don't do more collabs?

but one don't need to take form the other. its can be made by a small team that is not part of the core one. it not need to be mroe that what the dragon quest one is. just do 1 or 2 a year and it be nice for the glams. but if they want to go all out the can make it part of the core game. like the alliance raid for 5.x. don't know any one that hated it. you can say 4.x alliance raid was a collab for 12 as well.

Something to consider is skills. This new "team" might not have the skills to make such content and need the necessary training.
