I hate those power ranger like spark effects

I liked how the Red Ranger and the Green Ranger had it out....Then the Green Ranger became the White Ranger and was like Trollololololol I'm leader of the Power Rangers now.

Something being believable and not existing in real life are two different things.

FFXIV takes place in a realm with chocobos, monsters and such. Everything is done so in a way it seems believable within this world.

The sparks and magic effect, however, do not follow the same graphical style (and the sparks existing make no sense whatsoever). It completely breaks the atmosphere. It'd be like seeing a WoW orc hanging out with XIV's. Even putting a picture of a human being would look out of place, even though it doesn't get more realistic than that.

FFXI's spells all seemed to fit the visuals of the game. They had that polygon look to the them or whatever. I don't know how to describe it... but they didn't look like some computer generated graphic tossed on top of a breathing world.

OH GOD! We didn't have sparks before, Now we have them. get over it, can we have a chance to see it in game before people start complaining. lets move on...

I always see the monster groan, stagger, fall down and fade away after a few seconds - just the way they do in reality. Even the shiny elementals don't sparkle and die.

This thread is just too funny. I mean, do you really want blood and entrails flying around? Admittedly, I will agree with you to a point: This game is generally too fucking bright. IE The transition from Limsa heading out into La Noscea during the daytime, man, my eyes had to readjust every time..
