He's talking more about how the name carried the game early on, which isn't totally false tbf. Myself included i would probably never played it back in 2.0 if it wasn't for the name.
And hopefully the game brings more to the table than this god awful story.

I mean, the same can be said for WoW.
"If it didn't have the name and the high end raids, it'd be a crap game and no one would have played it"

Who said you cant say that about wow ? WHy bring every subject back to WoW ?
Thing is and it's true that any game with an FF put on the box will be sold no matter what

I'm just making comparisons. Its a dumb argument to make because it can literally be applied to anything.
And if all that XIV had going for it, it would have died as soon as 2.0 ended because there was nothing to do for months, in terms of story, and everyone LOVES to say how BAD ARR's story is. (its not)

Didn't know that every game and mmos got a big name that do make them sell well no matter what, we learn a lot on this forum.I'm just making comparisons. Its a dumb argument to make because it can literally be applied to anything.

I wont argue about the story part, it's truly something i disliked from start to the actual end, you enjoy it ? Great for you, it's terrible to me.
