Finally I can contribute to this thread.

Today I was running mentor roulettes both for the mount and because I enjoy the variety. Normally everything goes without a hitch, but today was the rare exception. I join in progress and it turns out to be Dohn Meg at the second boss. It's just me and two DPS, a BLM and a RDM, who are having a massive fight with each other. The RDM is accusing the BLM of just using ice spells and the BLM is responding that it's their eight-year old sitting on their lap playing while they watch. I'm just watching the fireworks while I wait on a healer to join in the madness.

Eventually we get one, but at that point the BLM has had enough I guess and tries to votekick the RDM. I hit no, but it went through anyways and we get a DNC instead. I go ahead and pull and, yeah, it's either their kid playing or this is the worst BLM in existence. No fire spells, no ley lines, nothing. Gets hit by every aoe and ability. Thankfully the DNC and AST were total chads and we made it to the finish line.

I took a break after that.

I would have just kicked the BLM, at that point. Why carry dead weight?

I’ve always found it quite entertaining if I ended up in a situation where only one is still standing and fighting a boss. I’ll just happily watch and be cheering you on.

Not from 60%, not , I would not be. Otherwise, sure, I definitely would be.

That's a big yikes. When one DPS isn't performing well, all the pressure immediately goes on all the other party members. Hopefully you'll get better groups from now on! Though, you probably should have kicked them, it probably either was an excuse due to either laziness, or just spamming random buttons, or maybe their kid was actually playing. Regardless, they should have been aware they're in a group setting with random players, and they shouldn't be doing that and wasting other people's time. If they're going to allow their kid to play, have their kid do so in the open world, maybe with FATEs or something like that, something solo where they won't be disrupting other people's time or enjoyment.

I'm starting to think the devs need to make dispellable and unavoidable debuffs a more common thing, because I've died to Exdeath's Doom debuff a disturbingly high number of times in the past couple of weeks...even if I specifically remind the healers to use Esuna at the start of the fight.

I saw this happen yesterday in that same fight. As BRD, I can only save one person, and who that person is depends on the party member I can cycle to the fastest on my controller between my GCDs.

I'm starting to think the devs need to make dispellable and unavoidable debuffs a more common thing, because I've died to Exdeath's Doom debuff a disturbingly high number of times in the past couple of weeks...even if I specifically remind the healers to use Esuna at the start of the fight.

Doom buffs that need to be cleansed or resolved by the healer are honestly one of my least favorite mechanics since you're basically at the mercy of whoever is healing, and if they're too busy watching netflix as they spam their 1 button rotation then you're kind of out of luck.

Common culprits include the doom tankbuster at the end of DR and the Living Dead debuff at the start of the Warrior of Light trial because trying to heal a tank to full without bene in 10 seconds is kind of like trying to fill a semi truck with gasoline, at least when your healers don't know how to use their kit

Edit: Also doom in general kind of sucks because how it gets resolved is inconsistent and never clear, some fight you can just esuna it off, other fight you have to heal everyone to full, and other times it gets resolved in a completely different way

Yep, I've been getting Dun Scaith a lot lately in roulette (which is great! I enjoy it since it's still something you can't just Netflix and faceroll your way through). Notice healers just absolutely allergic to Esuna, even after being reminded repeatedly.

Wow. It’s been a really long time since I posted on here. A long time since I’ve played in general - but I’m getting back into the game now with EW hype and SGE hype. And also just having more free time since I got a better job with better hours. And I’m much happier now, so I actually feel like logging in.

I’ve been playing on an alt a lot, since my main doesn't haven’t much more to do outside of my least played jobs needing to be leveled to 80.

Leveling up my healers on it, and I queue into Qarn on my baby WHM. Party is PLD, NIN, BLM, and me. And the PLD… idk what was up with them but they spent the entire dungeon spinning mobs, taking mobs for a walk, taking the bosses for a walk. Just doing a lot of…stuff.

They decided they only wanted to single target one mob in the beginning, and spin-it-to-win-it like it was going out of style or something. I’m healing the DPS because they’re doing more tanking than the tank. When we suggested they can use Total Eclipse on the mobs to hold hate a bit better (they were a sprout), they actually listened. Albeit, a bit too well because Total Eclipse was all they used for the rest of the dungeon! Even on the bosses!

The last boss they took for a stroll around the perimeter of the room the entire time. The NIN was crying.

I’m fairly certain they were trolling after they started using nothing but Total Eclipse but…glad to see DF is still DF. I guess?



Oh, and my Alliance Raid today was World of Darkness; and we wiped to Cerberus three times. Some things never change.

Got on today to check my submarines again. Still no luck with a Gestahl Painting or Fridge. Sigh.

Ran an Amaurot on Machinist cause I wanted to hyper analyze the building with the second boss. Dungeon group was fine. Was a WHM, newbie BLM, and a GNB(I think). WHM was doing great, no one close to dying ever, benison to baby the newbie and keep them up through stuff they hadn't seen before, and so I comm'd them.

Wonder if they thought I was griefing on the end loot though. I had used Return to backtrack the dungeon, and they were waiting on the loot without talking. I look at the loot, and there's a minion I didn't know about that comes from Amaurot... The Shoebill! So I figured, "Oh, that's neat! I probably won't win." I lotted an 89. The WHM had a 49.

I did not get any comms hehe. Whoops! But I did get my building analyzed.
