Presumably, in some weird alternate universe where Raubahn became Sultan-Consort, Pippin would have been the heir apparent.
There's no real evidence that adoption isn't taken seriously, or would be a dis-qualifier from inheritance.

Now I know this isn't directly told in the game but it is strongly suggested that Raubahn and the Sultana are actually lovers.

Obviously they're in a good and healthy loving relationship. Raubahn is willing to sacrifice himself for Nanamo and Nanamo strongly cares about Raubahn.

But even the strongest love in the world has to land on a reality check. How does it make sense practically? How do they have children? We know they have to continue the Ul Namo line so I'm concerned they're physically unable to have children. Or is this why Nanamo wanted to abdicate?

Edit: Please stop writing dirty things.... ewwwww. I was wondering if Highlander genes and Lalafellin genes can mix to create a baby, and if so what it'd be like. We've seen NO mixed race Hyur/Lalafell character yet so it wouldn't be too hard to entertain the idea that maybe it's genetically impossible.

I won't deny it. My first impression of the two was similar, but back then I wasn't long into the game nor I knew about their ages.
But right now after experiencing more of the game ( and the story in addition to the lore ) Seeing them as Romantic partners is out of my mind. You can see their relationship as Father figure & Daughter ( Even though Raubahn has an adopted son already )
As a big brother and his little sister. As a loyal Soldier and his lady.
You can imagine many more and they're all viable way more than lovers. Life ( And Reality by extend ) relationships are ( and should always be ) more complicated in a simple way. If two are seen together a lot, then you shouldn't think of them as lovers and proceed to think further ( Even though many relationships in these years are becoming like this )
An easy way to understand Raubahn and Nanamo relationship is to change Nanamo gender. Their relationship will literally remain the same with 0% changes in even the slightest details which should be self-explanatory.
