What would ruin my immersion is my character saying “wow look at that amazing ball gown” and your character saying “what ball gown?”.

Characters in the same world should see the same things.

Your character isnt saying that, you are saying that.

Further to this, those people that would want the toggle wouldn't give a shit, and prob respond back to you as who gives a flying F.

You can turn off other spell effects, no one gets offended by that if people do.
