Hidde Glamours Locally (& other graphically immersive options)

Cancelling people's self-expression is the stupidest idea I've ever heard for an MMO and if they ever add such an option I think that'd be the final straw for me to quit the game.

It wouldn't even be more 'immersive'. Have you *seen* what you look like without glamours? Basically clown outfits and nothing matches most of the time.

Let people continue to express themselves and get over it.

its supposed to be an online game. people have the freedom to do what they want like in real life, if you dont like how people dressed tough imo.
people shouldnt look different on different screens because you dont like it. thats just weird

also if you turn glamours off people will look like clowns with a mess of different armor. doesnt seem very immersive.

We all pay a sub to the game, I dont care about your expression really so why should I bother?

We all have our choices, you get to express your self to those that care, plenty of us don't care, I wouldnt care about your expression irl either.
We should all have our equal options in game as players like my self arent the ones you should be aiming this at.

this is in the same league as people asking blizzard to remove the transmog system it's simply not going to happen the glam system is a core part of FF 14 and its function is stated in the lore as being a perfect illusion aka there no way for you to tell what the armor or weapons actually look like without breaking the lore and we all know what happens once people start down the slippery slope of lore retcons

it's odd to me that people ask for a such a "immersive" option when such a option breaks the lore iimmersiveness:P

Other than singing the greatest song ever. I kindof chsnged my tune on this. I was completely against it but you know what... I'm not anymore. It'll never happen.. or I highly don't think it will.. but if by some chance it is... I stopped caring. If what other people are wearing throws people off that much then that's on them. and if SE gives them a turn off glamour switch let em have it. Long as it's just on their side it's whatever.

A toggle would not cancel someone's self-expression they are still free to express themselves how they see fit. Just people locally will not see what they are wearing and only if the person assumes every person used the option that would be the only way their expression would be limited. Though I have to ask is it truly self expression for one self if one needs the accept of others to see them to validate their existence or expression.

Why it's mandatory for others to see your character in x clothing as opposed to y I don't know. You can't show off your pretty self irl so you force it on ppl in game? xD
It was a loong time ago but another mmo I played, sadly cannot remember the name, when it was first loading in players on my crappy laptop all players looked like the default race/class gear... then they loaded in that persons actual appearance and gear. That in a really old game.. it is perfectly doable in ffxiv should the devs think it is worth the time.

It's a story heavy game and people wanting to not have a good moment ruined by a frog head should have the option to turn the things off. I don't really mind the thotty glams, I am so used to them from older games and anime.. but the costume's like the frog, snowman head or the choco head are just something I rather not see during certain moments. Other times they are funny.. just not when it's the epic summon other heroes moment and who answers the call?? A frog... cool.
