Yet its likely most people that play this game don't know how to dress themselves up IRL? the amount of men that don't even own suits is pitiful and the amount of women that refuse to dress for the attire for black tie is just as bad.I fully support this as long as they also add a filter which allows me to glamour over all the ugly ass boring plate mail and robes with jackets and sneakers because it really ruins by time in the game seeing such basic people running around in bog standard armour and reminds me that im sharing a game world with people who don't even have the fashion IQ to throw an outfit together, how's that for a deal?
My glamour is my personal expression in the game... that's how I choose to represent myself ingame and I don't want Square Enix providing others with the choice to see me as they want.
It's like I ask for something like this: "I don't agree with your post, so this forum should give everyone an option to present to your post as if you're saying the exact opposite of what you said"
To be fair, there is already a "toggle" like that for the forums. It is called adding people to one's ignore list. You can still see they are there, but the contents of their posts are hidden. My glamour is my personal expression in the game... that's how I choose to represent myself ingame and I don't want Square Enix providing others with the choice to see me as they want.

I was just mentioning to my friend Reginald von Bismarck about how few people wear powdered wigs or bowlers anymore. Quelle horreur.
Nah I'm talking about showing the person saying something they didn't want to say.
Nah it is more like I do not like what they are wearing so let me imagine them in something else. End of the day you will most likely never know someone is using the toggle. My glamour is my personal expression in the game... that's how I choose to represent myself ingame and I don't want Square Enix providing others with the choice to see me as they want.

Why are people even against this if it’s local? You’ll never know who has it toggled on so it doesn’t affect you. People don’t even notice what you wear 90% of the time unless it stands out or is a good glam.
I won’t use it but I’ll support it if others do. If they want to see mismatched gear or basic robes on everyone then let them.
I can't say I'm actually against it, but I just don't think it is necessary. People could be reasonable and mature and simply, I don't know, not worry about something so trivial. That goes both ways I'm sure, but I do feel that this "issue" isn't really an issue at all. All this thread and others like it have accomplished is making something out of what should be nothing. Why are people even against this if it’s local?
