Yeah I play FPS games, and no personally I rarely have a lingering thought oh whoa were they a hacker. My response is damn I got outplayed let me peep this mans.

With that said you legit are saying that the mere possibility of people using a toggle to hide your glam will devalue the activity for you? Not going to lie that seems weird to me because the thing is it is already possible so unless you are telling me right now that glam has been devalued for you because of it. I do not see why having more people have access to it would have any further impact.

I stopped playing PvP FPS games because I didn't feel like listening to all the kids with their fragile ego's screaming that I have to be using hacks or aimbot every time I killed them. I learned how to calculate projectile travel speed and spread and how it related to latency back when 56K dial up was a good internet connection. Now on super low latency broadband connections it's effortless to hit a target. And dumb ppl sitting in obvious places, running around out in the open, or hugging eachother in a spot I can kill them all with 1 explosive just makes it easier.

Overall that is just me, I find some glam to be cringe so I took into my own hands to find a fix. If I get killed by someone and watch them and clearly see they are hacking I just shrug it off and move on to another match. Though once again I get I am generally different, I do not let others determine the value of what I do. If I enjoy something I enjoy, if I like how something looks I wear it, if want to do something I do it. Everyone else be damned.

Why should I care if someone does not want to see me in my frog suit? Why should I care if someone bought a clear for a title I earned? Why should I care if people will initial think I bought a clear for my title because of how common they are?

If the fps has good anti cheat systems, than I would feel that way, but the state of Warzone right now with hackers. I can't help but question when I get outplayed or when I get hacked. I'm not going to learn much and get better if I'm against hackers mostly.

About the mmorpg aspect.
It is because a mmorpg is also a social game. I'm not sure how that is so strange. How we act, the community as a whole reflects on the value of the game and the mmorpg nature of it.


For example, Look at the server clusters. Some lean heavier to RP. Some are just silly, and some focus heavily on end game. If you want to focus and play with people who are heavily into end game. My server would not be your best option would it?


This is what makes an MMORPG. Your fashion, your farming to put things on the market. You undercutting someone, you going into a group. All this has some sort of impact on the world, and also what other players can see.

I'm not saying you really should care, and it is ok to see things as cringe, as that is the impact said player was going for when they made glam im sure, or they thought it was funny. Either way because you find it cringe, that means that person statement was seen liking it or not does not matter in the overall thing.


If you had a option to make all classes wear default class gear. The value of glam items would drop, and it would take away a statement players wishes to make with the fashion they wear. Does that not go against the very nature of a social game like a MMORPG?

If the majority of the players felt and act like you do, maybe. But I would not say this is a given, just a worry. Also on a personal note if the statement you wish to make is "PAY ATTENTION TO ME ALL THE TIME I WANT TO BE THE CENTER OF ATTENTION EVEN IN YOUR CUTSCENES. NEGATIVE ATTENTION IS PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE"... then I could do without you.

The capability and opportunity to socialize are the nature of any MMO game along with the requirement of cooperating with other actual players to achieve objectives. It's not within the nature to force those aspects and online games in general need to (and do) put systems in place to refine and regulate a players experience to be more enjoyable and safe such as reporting systems, graphic tuning and the ability to turn off abusable aspects.

I can (and do) play many MMO's (RPGs included) without talking to anyone or ever going beyond absolutely necessary interactions and have enjoyed them just fine. You can enjoy the social aspect, or look for it, but it is not necessary to enjoy the game or to have a game be an MMO.

I play warzone with friends, and sure many hackers play but overall my squad is still able to get W’s and enjoy ourselves in the process no point letting people that feel the need to cheat to have any impact on our overall enjoyment. Once something is no longer enjoyable I either try to find a fix or make one to make the experience more enjoyable, if I am unable to I jump ship no point. The enjoyable moments will always exist and the experiences will always remain and no player base, company, or change can ever take that away from me. That is my view in that regard.

Unfortunately you are talking to the wrong person when it comes to the social aspect of MMO’s I consider most randoms I meet no better then slightly better NPC’s. Their general experience and feelings matter very little to me overall. With that said I get it if you play such games for a sense for social validation then yes I could see how such a toggle would have a negative impact on your experience and at that point nothing I say matters cause what you are seeking is that aspect of social validation that oneself cannot provide.

Which is cool, I find it strange and to d a degree slightly pathetic (not saying you are this is just a general statement) but that is what is. As for your final point I do have an option that puts people in a default all class robe. It is not 100% perfect do not have the as much free time as I would like to go and swap everything. No toggle have to do it manually and in some cases it does bug out certain NPC’s but it is possible. Though as it stands mods currently do exist that do texture swaps and alter the appearance of certain items. It has no seemed to devalue overall allure of glam.

Reality is you cannot be certain that overall value would go down if the option existed, for it to go down generally majority of the player base would legit have to be so jaded that they generally will assume majority of players will use the toggle as a default. Which I honestly do not see being the case tbh.

This is a video game, as it stands we currently have no real world analog that makes what is possible to do client side in the real world. Closest thing we have is to have people imagine the someone wearing something different then what they currently. For the most part I do not think anyone really has a problem with this, that is legit what many are asking for. Outside of very niche outlier situations would a person ever know their appearance was altered.

Eh would not go that far. This is a game, so real life comparing is silly.


It is ok to disagree with each other without having a moral standing, to add weight to your views. Awha and I don't see eye to eye. Does not mean he is wrong, or I am wrong. We just don't have the same values, and see this game in the same way. So we are not going to agree on this. That does not mean I need to pull out real world examples, to beat his point of view, or anything like that.

At the end of the day, the developers will make the choice. If they add this option, I will not like it, but no game is perfect, and I will work around it. Just like I expect them to work around this issue that they don't agree with. I would not expect something out of someone at the very least I can't do. Even though, they can tell me to stick my expection where the sun don't shine and that would be legit also lol.
