From what I've gleaned most of the price is from the handpainted/crafted factor along with her head being a unique sculpt, the popular license, and her outfit being very complex. Similar dolls on the site go for around the same.
Just being handcrafted doesn't make it quality, though it's naturally going to drive up the price due to the human labor costs.
