Scholar speed boost isn't as bad as it looks

Before I get absolutely destroyed and threatened, I understand SCH mains dissapointment with the updates shown in the PLL but they also said everything isn't shown in the PLL. Now I probably have no right to talk, seeing as how I don't play SCH as a main healer but honestly I wish AST would get a similar move.
Do any of y'all realize how many people die because their sprints are still on cool down or the healers don't rescue when there's a huge aoe. I find this very helpful especially for sprouts who don't know the mechanics of a boss and are just wandering around aimlessly before being surprised by finding themselves in the middle of a huge AOE.
I'm just voicing an opinion and curious to see what other people actually think of the move and not just aimlessly spouting RIP SCH because they don't get to summon Feo Ul to heal them or something similar.

Oh I understand that, as a DRG main, if all they added was something that makes me backflip further and that's it, I'd be disappointed. But they did say themselves that that isn't all for the class so their might be more, END still has 2 months before release so there is still hope.

No, I think it's actually worse. There's no mechanic in this game where a marginal increase in movement speed is required to complete it, same for keeping uptime. And in the few cases where it's useful, you literally have Sprint. Every. Minute.

This is a throwback to 4.0 Shake it off. Everybody hated it and Square eventually fixed in the next patch. Hopefully this will also be the case.

It wouldn't have looked so bad if the ability showcase didn't have the SCH stand there for a couple of seconds after casting the speed boost before actually starting to run out of the AoE. They would have made it out in time if they had just ran normally.

Now I see where you’re coming from but considering it’s being implemented in END, maybe the devs have added enemies where using this skill helps against them.
Plus at the same time, END has two months before dropping, so knowing the FFXIV dev team, they’ll probably see the feedback and update the job or fix the skill or do something about it.

Honestly agreed, it was more comedic to me than useful. They probably could have had the aoe be big enough to where they needed to cast it immediately and run
