I find the characters in this game really ugly/weird

You have to play with skin and eye color, eye shape and makeup to get them to look right. I find it easiest to make a female Roegadyn or male Hrothgar that doesn't look soulless.

Unfortunately the opposite is true too. You can look like an atrocity if you aren’t being careful. I’ve used quite a few glamours and still never been that happy.
I race changed to Hrothgar just before so I’ll see how that goes I guess. Probably I’ll feel better as a lion than a weird doll for now.
