I find the characters in this game really ugly/weird

Anyone else feel this way? It's got that uncanny valley doll look. The newer races like Hrothgar and Viera are definitely better than the old but I still don't have a race I really like in this game. I play Elezen and keep my helmet on most of the time. If I looked more like Aymeric I might like Elezen more.

Male Viera I'm hoping will be good. I think the females look nice, but I don't want to be a girl or have a lion's face as Hrothgar(although I find them cool). I am thinking I might swap to Hrothgar anyway at least for a while though.

How do you feel about the characters in this game? I wish they would do an update of character models or something. I can't be the only one that feels this way with the uncanny valley effect. For me there is so much beautiful graphics but then you see a characters weird face and it's just... yuck.

Also I could really use recommendations on what race to play to avoid this problem.

The lighting in the game is not always flattering, to say the least.

Still, characters look good to me, but I also grew up in the days when SNES games had mind-blowing graphics. I'm old.

As the other people said, you have to play with the character editor to get good results @ threadstarter.

More seriously, all games with "human" characters have something weird in my opinion : moves, proportions of the hands etc. But tastes are what they are : pretty relative.

Yeah, when the streamers all came over (because they saw an opportunity to make money) and they and their fanboys all started talking about how weird FF looks I'm pretty sure my brain had a divide by zero error.

It's like...in your years of playing WoW, did you ever look at the game and it's hideous art style? Even once?
