Is there a conspiracy for lvl capped players to ignore materia?

I can't speak for the entire playerbase, but I only meld gear on jobs I play consistently and consider my mains.

Also, for a long time I was convinced that extracting materia would destroy the piece of gear. Yes, you can laugh. At least I learned.
