Hi! What you're looking to do is a texture/item swap. Basically, google "Nexus Mods" for a start. This is a site that commonly has files for many games that tweak things (usually textures). Most notably Skyrim/Fallout.Please, tell me where is such an option in the graphics menu? Genuine question really. Thank you for the help.
I'm willing to learn.
It's not like you can google: "how to texture swap to disable glamours in FFXIV and show the original armor the other players are wearing". At least I haven't found any tutorial nor mod on the matter.
Ultimately, you'll need to find out where the file for, say, 2B's legs (for each race/gender), and replace it with, I dunno, perhaps the starter armor. You will also need a tool they have to inject changes.
For example, there is a mod that fully enables hats on Hrothgar/Viera. >.>
Disclaimer/Covering my butt: This is against ToS technically, and will likely be overwritten whenever there's an update. (so keep whatever you overwrite handy to re-swap).
I am not recommending breaking the ToS, just answering your question.
This is not financial advise.™

I fully support this idea.
Sometimes I wear glamour that can be considered too ‘racy’ and if someone wants the option to switch it off.. go for it - doesn’t affect me in any way.
Some people who are denying this request... “I don’t think it’s a good idea, I want everyone to keep looking at me” attention seeker much?
The irony of this entire thread is that, indeed, the option to hide others’ glamours exists, if you only had the gumption to learn how to do it.
So, rather than “omg SE give me the option to hide glamours I personally dislike”, or “omg my immersion, wtf is wrong with you”, it reads more “omg I can’t be arsed to learn how to do some pretty simple texture swaps to match my personal tastes, you do it”.
SE shouldn’t waste dev time in this, as it is already a thing you can do, and a thing SE will not care if you do.Ok, so we all agree this game is only available on PC? No? Unbelievable! Blatant disregard for the poor console players...Hi! What you're looking to do is a texture/item swap. Basically, google "Nexus Mods" for a start. Because no one in-game actually cares. All these threads accomplish is make it easier for more recent forum users such as me to spot the control freaks. But please, don't let that stop you. Have at it!
Being upset that we can't control what someone else wears even in a fantasy world is truly disturbing.
I sometimes go to sleep gritting by teeth in my sleep because how very dare they.
When I'm at work I clench my fists at that Elezen in Limsa I remember who dares wear that 2B.
I log in and I roll my eyes at the frog suit miqote in my 20th run of heart of the creator.
And those perfect legends and their weapons ? Hurts my eyes! And doesn't really make sense lore wise. Like what do they want with those shiny weapons ? Attention ???
My sub is ruined day in and day out by these people!
And then when I'm finally alone in middle la noscea, because let's be real this is my fantasy game, I can finally relax and play.
*sighs and summons sabotender emperador*
While we're at it I also think the mounts are too sparkly. Also alphinaud hair, like really ? Lightning hair ? Flying cars ? IM TIRED OF IT. Where. Does. It. End.

Maybe instead of complaining about other people’s glam choices, they should ask the devs why tank/drg, mnk/sam, nin/ranged, caster/healer share the same armor sets instead of having unique sets for each category.
It’s not blatant disregard if SE doesn’t support either way. But, for the record, you could edit your PS4/5 files with significantly more effort.Ok, so we all agree this game is only available on PC? No? Unbelievable! Blatant disregard for the poor console players...

I feel you’re being semi sarcastic, so all good, but if there is anyone to be mad at, be mad at the lack of a PS modding community.

Correct. I play a mmo so other people can look at my style. This suggestion goes against the very nature of a MMORPG. Lucky for us the developers ignore feedback like this.
Honestly I wouldn't want to Block ALL glamour bc I actually love finding new ideas but I would DIE for a Blacklist. I would block certain pieces and live happily w/o never having to look at 2Bs asses, casual Real life clothing and silly heads again

More seriously though, I actually don't care for the option at all, I don't need nor want it. I just felt like poking a bit of fun since a lot of people jump straight to mods to "fix" stuff they don't like about the game, when it's not a viable option for everyone. I know you technically can mess with files on console too, but I'm not risking that when I have no clue what I'm doing.
