It's time (Option to Hide other players Glamour)

The irony of this entire thread is that, indeed, the option to hide others’ glamours exists, if you only had the gumption to learn how to do it.

So, rather than “omg SE give me the option to hide glamours I personally dislike”, or “omg my immersion, wtf is wrong with you”, it reads more “omg I can’t be arsed to learn how to do some pretty simple texture swaps to match my personal tastes, you do it”.

SE shouldn’t waste dev time in this, as it is already a thing you can do, and a thing SE will not care if you do.

Everyone is fine with the mods that alters other people w/o their permission, but SE can't make a legit option?

How, dare I ask, have you come to the conclusion that "Everyone is fine with mods"? Even ones that don't change other people's appearance rub plenty of people up the wrong way, there is a thread on the front page about UI mods, the use of ACT is a frequent point of conflict and traditionally console players dislike all mods because they can't use them and feel it's unfair. Mods are a very divisive issue, asserting that everyone is fine with them is clearly a bias viewpoint.

It's not like you can google: "how to texture swap to disable glamours in FFXIV and show the original armor the other players are wearing". At least I haven't found any tutorial nor mod on the matter.

Those threads aren't everyone agreeing about how much they like them. Two of them are arguing about the same thing, other people's glamour, and this one is 258 pages long already. How on earth do you see that and conclude "everyone thinks they are fine!" I'm baffled.

I said it a few pages back and I'll say it again, they won't hide other people's glamour because it's good advertisement for the cash shop (and other content but mostly the cash shop). >w>

What SE needs to do is get the mods who run the forums to lock threads that haven't been touched in a year so obvious trolls can't necrothread them. :B

SE will never add this. Since it it's a waste of there time and assets that could go towards something more important.

Have we all got over the fact that other people dress how they want in an MMO yet? no? ah ok, I guess it will be the same in a month or two when this topic comes up for 852nd time.

Just about as much as people have gotten over the fact that other people who aren't them might not see the "wonderful" outfit they put together on an entirely different computer in front of someone literal thousands of miles away who they'll never meet or interact with.

Honestly I'd rather someone necro this than start 4 more threads in a week about the same thing. well.. if they read more than the first and last post of the thread anyway. Necro with no context is just as bad.
