    Logical choices?

    I suppose a melee dps that shares Scouting gear with NIN and either a ranged physical dps or a magical dps.

    Let's do ToAU FFXIV edition... Corsair (melee/scouting) and Puppetmaster(ranged physical somehow) same expansion. Bonus Blue Mage (magical dps) rework into non-limited job!

    No, you see that's the logic everyone was using prior to Endwalker, just count the roles.
    Then they were like... surprise another melee, BUT this one will share Maiming gear with Dragoon, so there are 2 melee DPS that use the Maiming sets.

    So you need to look at like this

    4 jobs that use Fending
    4 jobs that use Healing

    3 jobs that use Casting
    3 jobs that use Aiming

    2 jobs that use Striking
    2 jobs that use Maiming

    1 job that uses Scouting


    So a job that would wear Scouting gear somehow is most likely addition... but I guess that doesn't necessarily have to be another Melee DPS though, it could be Ranged Physical centric since NIN also shares Aiming accessories with BRD, MCH, DNC

    last time they added 2 DPS with no new healer or tank ppl were on here complaining about waiting over an hour for duty queues to pop. So I doubt they'll do that again.

    they wont add another tank and healer so soon definitely be 2 DPS.

    I agree that Time Mage would make a decent DoT based magical DPS (manipulating the duration of DoTs with time magic), which is probably a type of job that will be missed by some players in 6.X.
    And Mystic Knight could work well with Scouting gear, so, yeah, I could see it happening.

    They've already demonstrated with Astrologian, Machinist, Sage that jobs in FFXIV don't have to necessarily be restricted to anything established in prior iterations of the FF franchise. Particularly Astrologian and Sage, cuz even if somebody guessed those jobs, nobody guessed Planetarium + hip mounted Yu-gi'oh deck and Gundam funnels as weapons.

    So another valid approach is to think about: what weapons/playstyles would be neat versus pre-existing job archetypes.

    Personally, some weapons I think would be interesting Great Hammers/Mauls, Whips, Ball and chain, Dual-wielding shortswords(more like a duelist archetype instead of ninja "assassin-style"), Bo Staff, 3 section staff, bladed hula hoop, crystal ball, and floating crystal swords/spears.
