Malboro has plenty of apartments in all the residential areas. You can check if an apartment building is full by opening your map. If there's a red tick icon on the apartment building;it's full.

Also there are apartment buildings in the sub-division. So currently there are 48 instances of apartment buildings in each residential area.

You can purchase an apartment in any residential area regardless of FC or GC affiliation.

To be perfectly honest, had I had access to the forums, I would have asked here first, but up until today I could not figure out how to select a main character on the sign in screen. Turns out you have to click the tiny star in the corner, not the actual plaque that highlights when you click it.

I was perfectly fine with an apartment, but can't seem to find one. If my Free Company is in Gridania (SP?) then my apartment building resides in the Lavender Beds. There are 24 instances of that, I believe. I went through all of them, and the apartment lady said none available. Am I bound to the lavender beds without changing FC's?

I didn't open a ticket with a game master, I wrote an email to Square Enix directly. The information wasn't my issue, it was the "too bad, kiss off" attitude it was written in that I didn't appreciate.

Also, didn't know anyone who played this game to ask so I went with the company's advertising.

I do realize that housing isn't important to some people, but it wouldn't exist if it wasn't important to some, nor would they have made a subforum if it wasn't something they expected to be discussed. They dropped the ball. My main purpose in posting here is to give them feedback as to why one might cancel a sub to their game. Being locked out of a game feature is annoying, but being told to go "suck it" is another thing altogether. Know what I mean? Probably got the wrong SE guy before his coffee, but it left a bad taste in my mouth.

You don't have to have an apartment in the housing district associated with your Grand Company. You can buy in any of them.

There are also 48 apartment buildings per housing district, not 24. Each of the subdivisions also has an apartment building and it's usually much easier to find an available apartments in the subdivisions because a lot of players don't think to check there.

I'd be happy to world visit to help you find an apartment on Malboro if you'd like an extra pair of eyes to help cut down the search time.

People will just think a lottery system is better because they don't have to spend all their time at singular spot. They'll soon realize that it wasn't.

Personally, I'll gladly do the lottery system instead of the placard.

Why? Due to the fact you can enter the lottery with alts. What? You really believe people won't do this? Why wouldn't you? Think about winning a house on an alt and hitting the secondary market.. fuck crafting ever again. You'd be rolling in gil. Not to mention the influx of players currently going on and while it is dope to see all new faces... Once they level up and now have a desire to get a house... It is a fucking wrap for the homeless.
With the current system while it is total fucking ass (Got my house already) At least those with crazy will power and grit and just grab one... Once thats gone.... You're going to be wishing it was back because of the reason stated above... Screencap this.

What part of my post did you fail to understand? You lose at the placard to every relocating troll in the game with no effort. He or she just comes over and takes it after you have been there for 4 to 10 hours. Or with the bots that click over and over while the player is elsewhere.

I will not ever say that the placard is better because it is my belief that the placard is the worst system ever designed.

Sure, you're right more people will be able to try for a house without having to click compete for hours, but...



Wait, that's all. More people can try for something supposedly available for all. No cons to that.

Looks like they are more interested in helping the masses than continuing to allow housing to be a physical competition that has a high chance of being won by bots anyways.

You could use the system as it was intended instead of placard camping.

Find an available plot. See if it's ready for purchase. If it's not, go do other things and check back a couple of hours later to see if it's still available and ready for purchase. Players have managed to get houses this way despite others camping.

Regardless, I doubt you're going to be any happier once the lottery is implemented and you still can't get a house because you're competing against the same 2000-3000 players each time.

Not just Alts ether though,
There are at least 5 RMT bots just buying houses on every NA server, No matter how much we report nothing is done about them.
Imagine not even being able to spot them, just 5 accounts putting in for each and every lotto. RMT will own the majority of housing with a lotto system.

A better solution would be to only allow Relocation for the first 12 hours, disabling relocation after the 12 hours have passed. Then keep the deconstruct timer but only up to 4 or 5 hours (After relocation timer).
^ For the most part this is actually how it works now, but without the block on Relocation after 12. the deconstruct might be "random" but from my exp and the housing discord plots normally sell around the 12 -> 14 hour mark.
This is not clear to new players or anyone not involved with housing so most of the first-timers spend the full 12->14 hours clicking. After a few days, people either give up, start botting themself, or find the discord.

Maybe some sort of bump-up system for people that have been trying for a certain amount of times.

Also, the requirements for being able to purchase a house should be bumped up, require 1 battle job at max level of current Expac and/or 180 -> 200 hours of playtime.
