People have mentioned the reloc trick, it's normally to catch out people who use bots or autoclickers. They don't tend to do it with such a large transaction as 29mill, but make them into smaller bitesized transactions, especially on a small plot (given how quickly Medium and Large get reloc'd I suspect it's a small?) because they can make more money that way, so you'd have to have clicked on it more than once. So this does sound like you were using an autoclicker and if the case, then it's a cautionary tale in not using exploits to give yourself an unfair advantage over other people. Yes, the housing system sucks, but an autoclicker just creates competition that's unfeasible for a human to match.

If somehow this is NOT what happened. Open a ticket, they'll be able to verify your transaction history and possibly do something about it.

But normally when this sort of stuff happens, it's because the person used an autoclicker and somebody took advantage to steal your money.

I don't really consider that a "scam". Presumably, a player clicking the placard manually wouldn't accept any trades of this sort. Nobody is forcing them to trade away their gil.

Woah... deja vu! Anyone who bots to get a house deserves to be """scammed""" by relocators.

This. If the person were not abusing a bot, then presumably they knowingly clicked their way into the retainer to purchase what must've been quite a bit of coke - or any other really cheap thing being sold for lots of gil. Selling cheap things for lots of gil isn't really a scam in and of itself, therefore the person isn't being scammed when they purchase off of a retainer. No one can force someone to purchase off of their retainer... unless said person is utilizing an autoclicker and isn't present at their PC. In which case - how is the person who purchased/relo'd to the house supposed to know that? They just put stuff for their retainer to sell.

This kind of reminds me of player bazaars in FFXI. Though what it makes me think of was more related to actually scamming/fooling people. Often times, people would sell Ancient Currency for relic weapon upgrades in their bazaars. 100 Pieces were generally worth a hundred to a thousand times more, and some cheeky folks would put a single piece at the price of a 100 piece, and this would occasionally fool people who were eager to buy a ton of currency to finish the stage they were on, because their eyes saw the price and assumed because they didn't actually care/pay attention to what the difference was. Some ancient currencies were easier to mistake than others for their single varieties, but it sometimes worked with anything.

But what this "scam" actually is, is an auto-clicker deterrent. Don't use auto-clicker folks. You're asking to be exploited if you do. What this really is, is reverse exploitation. The auto-clicker people are seeking to give themselves an edge with a third party tool. It doesn't feel like cheating, after all, clicking is a mundane task. But it is cheating, because it's automated, and they don't even have to be there to buy the house.

I wouldn’t call it stealing, I would say it’s liberating a cheater from their Gil.

You're all wasting your time arguing with clickbots who just want to cover up and justify their actions to some degree. It's obviously not a "scam". Botting is prevalent enough now that in any forum thread discussing it, it's likely that at least one or two posters are, or have tried, bots.

If you don't want to lose all your gil while purchasing a house, don't break ToS. Simple as that.

It doesn't harm the honest people and let the bot user's think twice of they want to take that risk.

But yeah, it looks like exactly that happend.
Can you really get mad at people for botting around such a terrible system?
