I heard the best way of making gil is to move an estate to a placard where people were mindlessly clicking (or worse, botting!) and drop a retainer with a full inventory of Coke priced at 1 million gil each.

Did this happen here? No idea, but the symptoms track. You might consider looking into your purchase history.

It's actually becoming part of a scam where people will relocate to an empty plot to do just that and sell stuff to auto clickers by placing a retainer next to the placard.

The housing market has turned into a real joke especially on Balmung. I have a friend there trying to get a house and the use of transfers is simply sad. People transfer in and out of plots continually with some even saying they transferred by mistake.
