I don't know where you got "hero fantasy", nor did anyone mention it.Again, the vast majority of mass-shootings happen in areas where civilian gun ownership is permitted, armed security is present, or even both. It does not act as a statistically notable deterrent to mass shootings. The study that was referenced manipulated their data by ignoring the presence of armed security, and using alternative definitions for mass-shooting among other things. It was conducted by an organization with an explicitly political goal.
I am a gun hobbyist myself, and my family even deals in firearms. This hero fantasy stuff is pure american cringe.
