Please Square-Enix solve the housing problem with Island Sanctuaries

No pain, no gain.

I've been active with housing for a while now, spending several hundred of hours and decorating multiple houses. Reading all these topics here, i can understand the frustration of people wanting their own home to toy around with for a few hours but then they just sit on it and do nothing with it because they lack time or patience to actually build something.
Also, housing isn't really all that much fun if you have no one to share your work with, it is tedious and time consuming, when ever i finish a build, i am eager to show it to people in my FC and discuss it or get new ideas, or just try to invite random people to come and look, maybe finding new customers or friends that way.

I can only suggest to people like you , find an FC and start with your own room in there or try to buy an apartment, you can also share a garden with your FC, or work on an FC house together, which is a lot more fun than furnishing your own house once and alone anyway.
I agree that the way of aquiring a house is not ideal, but giving everyone an instanced house would destroy the social aspect of the housing system, this is an MMO after all and that also applies to housing.

There are barely any folks roaming the wards, the only « social » aspect is people writing a note on your golden book, or inviting people like friends/guildmates to come visit which can also be done in ESO with its instanced housing.

There’s literally no genuine reason to not have this feature, besides selfish ones. Notably from housing dealers, may it be gil or RMT.

(and extra work for the devs but could be profitable down the line)

So you put up with an awful design and people should waste time on it too ? With no guarantee to have anything at all ?

If I was in your shoes I’d be happy for newcomers to not deal with crap stuff like this.
