To be fair, heals you have no control over are significantly weaker than heals you can map or plan. A lot of Embrace healing is unnecessary or wasted. That said, SCH healing and fairy heals are generally fine. Fey blessing is similar to Plenary or plain Horoscope and Aetherpact is a reasonable tank heal. The issue is that SCH pays high tax for weaves and has several abilities that require multiple weave slots to utilize, on top of Fairy abilities being tied to the downsides of pet AI and Dissipation, so those small supplemental heals lose a lot of value.

For SCH the fairy is simply a hindrance, when for a pet class your pet should ideally be your strength.

Agreed, I'm just rebuffing the eternal Scholar fainting couch "the fairy feel so weak" statement, which has been around since forever. Even back when Embrace was far more potency than it is currently while being targetable. Embrace has problems. It's potency ain't one of them.

Potency no, clarity yes, but that's not exactly a fairy unique problem. Fey Union may suck in a lot of ways, but it at least communicates that it's working fairly well compared to most heals. I kinda wonder if more translucent but thicker tether-like animations should be used on single target heals to delineate they're happening to the people who are receiving them. It might make the fairy in particular annoying in practice, but it would be better than randomly hearing the Embrace audio while missing the thin target arrow that comes with it completely. Most heals would probably have to use a slower fade out to register properly without getting in the way of things. Hardcast ones could rely on the fact they have a cast time to establish the tether too.

Personally I like the one button dps design. It just frees up a lot of time etc. All you have to do is just weave healing and in down time focus on positioning and broil.

Really loved when we had 3 dots / Bane / Shadowflare
Really lost interest in SCH when we lost all the Dots. Hope they make a return somehow.

This. And the fact that our pet is a total hindrance right now. It was so close to being perfect towards the end of Stormblood, I just don't understand what happened.

It made it perfect for high ping low latency people like me who mashed Fey Union and Whispering Dawn for 6 seconds straight trying to get it to go off back in Stormblood while taking other actions, sometimes forcing awkward sequencing ‘just in case’. The GCD tax and guarantee that what you do will happen within a GCD provided you don’t swap your pet or flood it with 2+ commands within a GCD’s worth of space is more than sufficient for me.

Frees up a lot of time to do what, exactly?

Considering the amount of healing downtime, we aren't exactly short on free, non-healing GCD time.

Floor slap can stay, more dots would be ok tho. Floor slap is perfect for a filler.
