They'd still need to get the hardware that's scarce due to production limits and send staff from Japan to NA in order to set the new hardware up. They need to invest in localized staff to deal with more than people cussing. Each region needs techs to deal with hardware and each region needs an STF team.

Its not so much that they wont add another dc, its just they cant at least right now, severe hardware shortage going on. Covid slowed down productivity, not to mention horribly slow logistics... (A lot of big ports are packed to the brim with cargo for example)

The servers still have more traffic than they had at this same point in the Stormblood cycle. I don't want to think about how congested they might have been and how long the queues just to get into the game would be come Endwalker's launch if they didn't force NA players to pick one of the other two data centers.

They'll probably have to take Aether off Congested by mid-October to balance the NA server loads again. It's going to be a bumpy road until either the semi-conductor shortage clears up so they can add more worlds or until they can complete work on the Oceania data center next year.

If you want to complete any content in the game you can do so on any data center. Stop spreading this data center drivel.

Let them keep spreading that drivel. The Crystal population is a lot friendlier and relaxed as a result.
