Aether is officially locked

Datacenter wide lock I think is new. At least to the point where they made an announcement like that. High traffic worlds regularly would go on lock just to get ppl to play on ones with less active players on them. Not sure if there were coincidental situations where an entire datacenter's world list happened to be on it at the same time.

Frick... and just this morning I decided to finally make an ALT and my friends sister picked up the game.
Any hint as to when things might be open again?
(I skimmed these pages so sorry if this was covered already).

In all seriousness, has anyone experienced a datacenter lockdown before for this game? If it's ever happened before, how long did they take to reopen?

They actually did lock down entire Aether before shadowbringers release and it was unlocked some time after. I found some old info on lodestone:

Active characters are lowest on Crystal, Light and JP data centers, about 60% of what they are everywhere else.
