Brainstorm: Recreate Castrum Meridianum and Praetorium

Do you think it benefits the game for the most enjoyment to be had from _not_ playing it? The whole point of changing Castrum/Praetorium is to make the content enjoyable so that everyone _wants_ to participate. Coercing them into doing so by dangling massive XP rewards so that they mechanically go through the motions while actually doing something else is not enjoying the game.

I’m still enjoying the game. I’m enjoying doing my job and dealing damage outside of cutscenes. I’m not going to sit there staring at the screen deadeyed while the cutscenes are playing, though. I’ve been through prae/castrum dozens of times at this point, I can recite everything word for word - I don’t need to watch the cutscenes to enjoy the game.

Hate to break it to you, but if someones watching cutscenes theyre not playing the game. Theyre watching cutscenes.

Or just keep it as it is to continue having the best exp gain in the game.

The problem is that this content isn't limited to the MSQ roulette. Its also part of the Mentor Roulette and it's where you often find yourself with a max level character since new people to the duty are inevitably going to be there. This one dungeon in particular needs to be removed from the Mentor Roulette becuase its an incredibly long time to be locked in a duty with a 30 minute penalty being your only other option as a mentor. The Mentor Mount is locked behind 2,000 runs of the roulette and if you play a tank or healer you're guranteed to get the MSQ Roulette dungeons. Ive gotten them multiple time in a row before. Just tragic.

When you just do mentor roulettes for the mount, then you don't deserve to be a mentor. But this is not the place for discussion's about the flawed mentor system.

Oh, and maybe it is your server or the time you are playing but I can't remember the last time I got the msq dungeons.

This. Like I said, even going through MSQ I’m still enjoying myself - I’ll keep something on to watch while the cutscenes are playing, and I’ll enjoy playing my job and doing damage outside of the cutscenes - which is enjoying *playing the game*. And on top of that, I enjoy helping newer players who may not understand whats going on - sometimes, if someone’s new I’ll let myself die during that first pull so they can go on ahead, and let them know what to do for later.

It’s still a personal enjoyment.

I already answered this. If you cared to have an honest discussion you would have read it. The content is "worth it" because SE makes it arbitrarily worthwhile by having very high rewards. People aren't queuing for these dungeons because the content is so great. They're doing it _despite_ the content because the rewards are so great. I just want the content to be enjoyable for everyone, new and old alike. I don't understand the resistance to that. I don't mind running Sunken Temple of Qarn for the 50th time because we actually get to play the game, not just sit around and watch the same movie for the 50th time.

If a Praetorium run is the longest you've been stuck in a Mentor Roulette run then you're either lying or you've never been dropped into an Extreme fight you don't remember how to clear with sprouts that don't know how to Tank Stance. Or you're one of those people that look at that and just quit right away.
