Considering he likes WoW, where you don't have much room to dps between heals, no wonder the devs are so adamantly holding onto the 'healers must only heal' ideal. To add insult to injury, even WoW healers have a wider dps kit than XIV healers.

That's their base dps kit too, they can spec into a boomerang heals/dps spell with a 15 sec cd or a big old aoe damage/heal every 40 sec cd. I think they also have an execute now which is fun. Holy priest is considered the "beginner healer" but they also have the most amount of buttons of all the healers.

Yea, good point. Virtually every MMO anywhere has a more entertaining experience for healing characters than FF14. That's why I'm praying we see a return to 4.0 healing mechanics...but, Square Enix never communicates with their players so who the heck knows what they're going to do.

I agree; WM 4.0 should have been brought up instead of bringing everything else down in 5.0...really a shame.

I have not played WoW in a long time (basically 2013), but looking at prog streams, I feel like they took inspiration from how healers used to dps in ffxiv and implemented it over there, while the reverse was done in ffxiv (basically removed all of our dps kit). Of course this failed hard in ffxiv as is shown by all the healers complaints.
