I don't think there's any in game achievement for mount completion beyond the capstone pony, birb, dog, and gwiber set from each expansion. It's not like the minions or TT cards in that respect.

The external websites that track mount completion are not official, so you can take that up with the website curator that made the decision to include cash shop mounts.

Unless you're a Legacy player who's made every Feast ranking season and got all of the Garo and Yokai mounts, you'll never complete the mount list anyway.

Defending multi-million-dollar companies decisions to gauge more money out of players AND actively silencing players opinion is kinda bad.


Here is why I feel like CC is really bad this time:

1) Price. Its 30 dollars, or 21 euros. Thats absurd seeing how its almost close to full expansion cost. Feels like 2-seater is forced just to get money up (

2) CC is iconic boss for many players with amazing soundtrack. This is why I FEEL annoyed about this more than "fat cat", "santa bear", "Cloud", "Firey-wheels". Those are sorta "fun, extra stuff some artists did". Plus im more likely to buy Fat Cat mount than some re-used asset from a boss I just fought and thought was cool.

3) It couldve easily been reward from literally anything else. Bozja, TEA, PvP (rival wings?! anyone?!), Feast, new PvP wolfmark reward because "sorry we kinga neglected wolf mark pvp rewards. here, have this"..etc etc.

Yes im going to use "slippery slope" here but look, where is the line going to be drawn?

Will we see Eden 4 boss-wroom (you know what I talk about) next on mog? Will we suddenly see Nidhogg there? What about E10 boss few expansions from now?

If CC is okay why wouldnt I be allowed to ask for E10 boss? Then I can just say "Just dont buy it lel" and say "nah fam, you are just using slippery slope. Its just 2 bosses bro its fine"

Sooooo, has anyone here played Swtor before?

I am only curious because I feel many have not or are not even aware it exists. Whenever cash shop topic arises I am reminded of the game I took breaks from for FF14 land.

Here is one small breakdown comparison between both!

FF14
Sells a method of procuring items, increasing inventory capacity, aaannnnnd additional market slots for additional monthly cost.
Simultaneously offers one of the smallest most restrictive inventories I have ever seen.

Sells many expensive items within the cash shop some totaling over thirty four dollars.
Some items and emotes are not account wide and must be purchased multiple times if you have alts.

Has a mobile application that only allows you to preform certain tasks with it by purchasing "special currency".

Mogstation items cannot be purchased or sold on the in game markets or traded to other players.

Mogstation is clunky as all heck and difficult to navigate sometimes many times!
Items can take hours even when rush delivery button is pressed.

Cash shop is separated from the game its self, this is both bad and good thing depending on how you view stuffs.

Expansions are full price separate purchases. I will say that on average these add at the times significantly more content to base game though.

Trial only allows for one expansion and the level cap of this expansion (Heavensward). It is not very restrictive beyond this though!

Swtor:
Sells method for increasing inventory capacity within "Cartel Shop" for one time fee.
Contains method of increasing inventory capacity within the game by spending in game credits (gil).
Offers full inventory just like ff14 does but on top of this also fricken has a legacy storage and per character storage box.
Each storage method has fifteen available tabs each about the size of one retainers inventory.
Legacy storage is cross character and available to all of your alts from the start.

Sells many expensive items often priced far higher then FF14 per item.
Uses unique "currency" called "Cartel Coins" that must be purchased first.
Every purchase from mounts to emotes is cross character.
Gives 500 Cartel Coins per month simply for subscribing. One hundred additional coins per month per friend you refer that also subscribes.
Mounts cost roughly 2000-3400 Cartel Coins for additional perspective.

Does not have any mobile application (would prefer it had one but not using FF14 system). This should be free or one time payment if you ask a Mia.

Cartel Shop items can be traded or sold within the in game market allowing players to bypass the Cartel Store entirely if they wish! This is not bad thing either despite what some say and Swtor had far far fewer bots because of this.

Cartel Shop is simple and easy to navigate and purchasing items can be done from within game using already linked credit or debit card.
Cartel items can be claimed instantly and are immediately added directly into character inventory (no mail required).

Cash shop is integrated into game making it much much of the easier to purchase items from it or claim them, especially on alt characters.

All expansions are included with the monthly subscription.

Swtor is free to play up to the final expansion with various restrictions.
The majority of these restrictions can be removed for one time purchases or by purchasing the items from in game market place with credits (gil).

Swtor has a far less egregious cash shop and does not demand a monthly cost for additional item storage. Swtor cash shop items dwarf many FF14 cash shop items by fricken insane amounts!

Heck! There are emotes in there that call down giant orbital lasers or set off fireworks displays or other absurd stuffs.

It is alright not to like absolutely everything about a thing you happen to enjoy. This is okay! Voicing displeasure provides feedback that may be necessary and can result in improvements.

Sheesh I forgot how many defend cash shops.. my former FC had many members that did this too. They did not like when myself or anyone spoke out against the Mogstation. It was not surprise to discover many of them were whales with Fantasia addictions who had already spent thousands of dollars.

If you want it...buy it. If your a mount collector and you want it, then buy it. Its a premium mount that was designed and put into the game YEARs later. If it was a premium mount way back in Heavensward we might be having a different conversation. But at that time, it was not a mount.

I pay to play games and be rewarded for that: content in game.
A weird concept. Paying for a service, being provided said service. Amazing.

And no, mounts are not optional services - Are features of the service already provided: Rendering the cash shop only an extra fee, a predatory extra fee.

Honestly, I think everyone is doing the right thing at the moment. People that are displeased are sounding off and the rest of the crowd are saying they are fine. Yoshi needs to hear everything and he will let Square know and they will act as they see fit. Square at the moment has some common sense and honor. (Something Blizz is lacking at the moment)

Since talking about other MMOs cash shops, I did like with ESO you earned cash shops currency passively just by subscribing. I know one thing perhaps less cool though is they will put up cash shops only houses for limited time, so if you don't have enough built up passively you'll have to supplement that with active purchase. Though I guess they're supposed to come back occasionally. I believe ever quest has a thing similar where you get benefits to the store passively. I kind of had hoped the new veteran system would be akin to that.
