SE - Please fix EU situation now

Problem 1: Insufficient Servers Due to Semiconductor Shortage
The COVID-19 pandemic has seen an extreme drop in semiconductor production in factories across the globe. This, coupled with an increase in demand for electronics due to more people working at home, has resulted in an international shortage of semiconductors that, in turn, has resulted in a prolonged delay in the delivery of the servers we ordered for our data centers.

We have even looked into investing more than market value to speed up delivery, but to no avail. We are not giving up, however, and are in continued talks with vendors from around the world to find a timely solution to this problem.

We also don't know the hardware dependencies of the server software, so just renting random servers is easily not a sufficient solution.

Despite what Ranaku may think, EU do need more servers (or potatoes).
We need more worlds and preferly a new data center.

I mentioned already in OP that I'm in understanding these things isn't going to be resolved overnight, hardware shortages and issues to get to the locations due to travel restrictions. But outside of a small note on lodestone there been little communication about this situation that frankly been going on ever since the EU split back in what 2016-2017?

You'd think for someone claiming to play in EU, you'd experience these issues as well but I guess it's easier to turn a blind eye and belittle and insult people on the forum :')

The EU datacentre was getting DDoSd. There is the cause. Though it's weird that this is on the NA lodestone but doesn't appear on the EU lodestone. Odd.

As has been stated (and was even on the main page) they can't just make servers appear in the midst of a global shortage of equipment thanks the pandemic and a swell in the need for for servers

Unfortunatly, there are currently two problems :
Covid and China restrictions on rare metals (80% of the world production) exportations.
Then it makes production is slower, materials are rare and price are higher and since the Covid makes demands for computers and cloud service higher... things are becoming really complicated.

And despite the China exlusivity (almost) Western countries are reluctant, when not hostiles, for mines opening in their lands because environment protection.

First mmorpg Sotaris? Queues are normal for highly popular mmorpgs. Not fun, still you can always alt tab and do something else while waiting.

Light as well, bigger server even and it's not too bad.

No it's not. I've been playing MMOs since my teens in early 2000. I started playing this in 1.0, FF11 since EU release until 2012. WOW casually since 2008., and my complaint wasn't about login queues alone, have you read the thread or just jumping to conclusions?

Good to know, however when this was posted I was on vacation so it was missable. I don't live on these forums when im out of town, depsite what some might think :')
