Actually said investors have ruined many a game series in the past decade or more because their greed got bigger, strangely people attack or criticize the companies instead when they don't realize the people behind the curtain are the real problem.
Its actually kind of financially dangerous making deals with those individuals.
WoW and Diablo are prime recent examples when you let said investors sink too deep, Blizzard is only half of the problem when the other half forces them to make bad decisions to meet their quota.
Konami is also another example when they gone full Pachinko, its not because they want to do it but because who they have to answer to meet the financial demand.
and finally when people complain about the generic takes these days in movies and games is because they're forced to play it safe now or face financial disaster.

Edit -
Just to add another thing, but I think the (afaik) that the mogstation items prices are based on the effort put into it to create said model (a lot of CG-3D modelers typically do this depending how detailed it is when they put it up in the market).
My concern is the Cruise Chaser, and previous other models that were already made before and makes me question why is there is price on them? What makes the model different to justify the price other than you mounting on it? Maybe there is more going on under the hood that I don't know.
Other than that I've said enough on this.

Gil tokens rofl That wont happen given how brain easy it is to make gil right now. Cul + bot + coffee biscut leve= easy gil. That is just one of the ways to make some quick gil.
Yoshi is responible for FF14's developement budget. He knows where all money for the game is coming from.
Yoshida said every Critical Engagement is the equivalent of a dungeon boss in terms of design. We didn't simply lose a dungeon but the resources were repurposed to something else, specifically Southern Front and Zadnor.
"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."
I like the mogstation. It is a super convinient way for me to get my dyes. Also I don't mind supporting the company with a little extra here and there.
This game has been out for around a decade now, and the mogstation has not doomed the game's quality.
In fact, the mogstation is where the money goes back into the development for FFXIV while the sub fees go sustain the servers and pay off other parts of the company.
For the most part, nothing in the mog station is giving an ingame advantage other than the level boosts (and even then, they're pretty much there since it was intended to be used for alts; your actual skill level required for those duties doesn't improve). Cosmetics like outfits, emotes, dyes, fantasia, and mounts are all glamour for your character and isn't essential to your experience. It's only there to enrich your experience if you want them since you weren't part of FFXIV or missed the event when it was up.
Plus, the current mogstation is a good way to get cosmetics for people who joined in FFXIV late / decided to make another character to play with friends on that datacenter but want a previous item from an event they did on another character. I rather be able to buy the 'songbird' emote than wait for a rerun of an event (which could take a couple of years) that gives me the 'songbird' emote.
Case in point: FFXIV crossover with FFXV event. The regalia mount was available many years ago as a purchasable MGP event item - and people wanted that for ages when they heard about it. A four seater car that transforms when flying? Amazing. But the event hasn't been rerun for a long time, and people weren't sure if SE was ever going to rerun it and was a one time thing like the Garo event. Many people just wanted it in the mogstation for that reason so they can still obtain it. When they heard the event was getting rerun, everyone was estatic, but boy there were so many people who were willing to give out money for a car.

Nothing to do with WoW, it's just very blatantly disrespectful to the customers to introduce a CC mount to the cash shop of all things.
Sometimes I wonder if bootlickers do play other "ongoing" games and realize just how expensive FFXIV is to defend things like this.
im baby
Why? What makes CC so special compared to any other store mounts?
in wow they much more expensive and extreme so, please go on.

Because it was the most wanted mount for years, and definitely one deserving of being a reward. God forbid making people feel good about earning a mount they've been eagerly waiting for through gameplay and giving people an incentive to run some content in the middle of a drought though.
Also if you need to bring up WoW, it's not a good look, because WoW isn't great either in that department, at all. WoW and XIV are probably the worst I've heard of, actually.
Whale on.
im baby
