If you cannot wait for EW's launch of male viera, you can sort of have the effect by purchasing Bunny Crown or Bunny Chief's Crown headgear from the prize counter at Gold Saucer with MGP and wearing them (a hyur would have the best effect) and changing your hairstyle so your real ears are hidden (there are two variations, with upright ears or drooping ones), as they're literally rabbit ears.

Considering they supposedly only started playing last week it's not impossible that they simply aren't aware of these things. I'm not sure why anyone would think they are trolling just for being unaware. There's nothing that would indicate that. lol If your aim was to help I think you missed the mark.

As far as I understand they were planning on only Hrothgar but then during development they decided to make Viera too due to fan request ( or maybe it was the reverse ).
It's pretty noticeable because both of them have severe lack of customization options and can basically not wear helmets.

There's also lore reasons why male Viera would be extremely rare to the point of basically being non-existent, I don't think that's the main reason and I mean they're adding them now.
But it may have played a role in their decision to not scrap Hrothgar and just make Viera alone.
And ultimately most people wanted female Viera it's not even close so they pleased the most amount of people this way.

I do agree with you especially with how it's framed a little as '' y is dis female only? '' which usually is framed that way when people want to go on some big rant about '' female characters in vidya gaems ''.
The OP did mention Hrothgar too but it was mostly focused on Viera and it was more like an afterthought mentioned.

Whenever people bring up these things I do sometimes think that they're just trying to do a '' gotcha '' and push some other narrative because some content upsets them.
But I don't think that's what the OP's intent was.

It's like how there's a difference when someone asks for more options in skimpy gear with male characters for example vs someone who claims that's what they want but then spends 99.9% of everything that they say on ranting about women showing skin.
The intent there is clearly pretty different even if they claim otherwise when called out on it.
The OP strikes me more as in the former camp.

Viera were a race that appeared in certain previous Final Fantasy titles -- for example, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Final Fantasy XII. In the lore of those games, Viera were actually a female-only race.

This is false. Male viera have always existed, they just were never seen and - like our lore in here - lived away from the females and only interacted with them during visitations times where they'd take the male children off to be trained (plus breeding with the women, one would assume).

Regardless @ OP, we'll be getting buns in Endwalker as others have said - though you can mess about with character creation for them on the benchmark, if you're on PC. Female Hrothgar have been promised (well, vaguely), we just aren't sure when to expect them. I'd honestly say not until 7.0, personally; would be a good selling point for that expansion, the same as male viera being a selling point for EW now.

Whether the viera hat/hair situation will be fixed after we get both genders, or will be slowly worked on until Hrothgar women are released, remains to be seen.

In the lore of those games, Viera were actually a female-only race. How does that work? I honestly don't know, and I don't it was ever explained, but that is at least why male viera were not originally planned for this game.

I thought the lore was that the males go to the edge of the jungle once they become of age in order to protect the women living in the cities. And only come back to procreate.

He said he was a new player, you can't expect every new player joining the game to do some googling research. When senior players can't even keep track on their housing demo timers and seasonal events.

Hmm. The whole "Female Hrothgar" even if loosely and vaguely suggested to me is more exciting than bunbruhs.

It is, mainly the ears and hair limitations with gear. While through the benchmark was entertaining to see their direction on them. Just not my cup of tea. Well, till better hair options and head wear become available honestly.

I am excited for those who are just finding out about them, as well as those who have been wanting them since, well being introduced to Fran from FFXII.
