Why do you assume that Square Enix can't just wait until the game logs have sufficient proof based off of the Discord leads so they can take action and ban people?

We know that SE does ban people for RMT (see https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...17da61235fd9e1 ), but we don't know how they are actually detecting and generating the evidence to ban someone for RMT. It would be foolhardy to automatically rule out Discord as "safe" ground.

Because By Law, Discord would have to publicly state that they have a deal with Square Enix that allows them to collect data and general information on its users. If that truly were the case, then the house-sellers wouldn't use it. Similar to how someone breaking into your house isn't going to stick around when they hear the sirens coming.

Besides, it's not like we actually have ownership rights to any of the content we put on the social media platforms. For example, any picture you post on Facebook becomes Facebooks (and you lose all rights to said image) for Facebook to do with as they wish, and completely deny you any monetization derived from said image.

Everyone can collectively go through all of your recent posts and see how you attack anyone who disagrees with you, coming up with beyond delusional leaps of logic to try and make people think you're in the right. You never give evidence to your claims, even when people ask if not outright demand you to and instead of actually adhering to the request, you play the victim and act as if people calling you out is unjustified.

All I'm asking you to do is show how it is illegal for the SE GMs to be monitoring that Discord server, taking notes, and then watching the ingame logs for when something lines up, and actioning off of the ingame logs. Show me what laws that would violate because "it breaks the law" doesn't mean anything unless it is quanitified. I am also stating that by posting content onto Discord (or any other social media for that matter) doesn't really make it your content, just content Discord has identified to belong to a specific login that (in theory) only you happen to know the login information for, so in essence, Discord (and the other social media platforms) can (and have) bypassed privacy laws because of terms you agreed to in their terms of service.

In this scenario, it is no different than an anonymous tip reported to law enforcement.

It literally don't give any answer to what ToS it's breaking. They can't define how much is too much gil.

They don't define it so they don't back themselves into a corner.
If they said "too much" was 500k, people would sell them for 499,999 gil.

It is the PR team that monitoring social media platform and noticed the activity that will damage the image of FF14 and SE as whole and took the action
Game Master only deal with in game issues and they have no authority outside of game.
This is also why all RMT related issue is dealt by the Special Task Force.

Even for PR team, they are not CIA that do not respect other nation's sovereignty
They can't not spy and monitoring Discord that is not an open platform (a lot of channel need permission to access; it is not as same as Twitter or Twitch where you don't need account)
It is just like Yoship said about they can not putting spyware into player computer to detects if players are using parser.
They need to follow the law and respect the privacy.
