Thoose are usually accounts that have been logged into not by the creator of the account so try to look them up on the lodestone and maybe consider reaching out to someone in their FC (If they are in one) to have them know what is happening.
I've done the same thing aswell but there's some cases where noone of the respective FC members have been online so not much more i could do there..

Also remove the specific name from the original post. If it's an actual person you received the message from, they are most probably a previous victim of the scam.

Funny that you mention it, I got this exact same whisper at like 2 AM and had to double check on the official forum. The name seemed somewhat trustworthy as well. Luckily, I reported the player.
