{Glamour Plates} {Can I have it?}

They should be working to make more plate space for everyone, not charge extra for them to already paying customers. Maybe if FF14 were a 1 time purchase instead of a monthly fee... but as is this sort of feature has no place in the mog station.

Yeah I totally understand that perspective, this was just one of the way I felt may be considered if this was considered from a developer's stand point. Again I don't know of the tasks presented to the devs when considering something like this so "optional purchase" was an option that maybe could give incentive to those that would have to work on detailing such a topic. I don't expect all of my suggestions for how to tackle the problem to be used nor do I expect there to be only one way of adding the number of Glamour Plates for the players. There most definitely should be a flat raise from the current 15 plates and then additional options beyond that.

I've been waiting for a thread like this, 15 plates is not enough especially when you take into account all of the different classes you can play and class specific gear across them all, more glamour plates is a justifyable addition to the late game and ever paying player

Exactly! I know so many veterans that have over half if not every single class including DoH/DoL leveled up to level 80! That's 29 separate classes!

My understanding is that SE aren't restricting glamour (number of plates, number of slots in the dresser, only being able to change in cities) because they want to be difficult. It is down to the limitations of the old coding and server load. I'm sure Yoshi P would love to give us a transmog system like WoW's or as many glamour plates as we yearn for, but his hands are tied.

I also believe that he hopes this will change at some point in the future, but it is dependent on other, more fundamental changes taking place. He said something to that effect in the last Q&A. As an example of what I mean - we're getting increased space for rings in the armoury but only because we're losing belts. We can't have more glamour plates etc (or not lots more currently) because of technical limitations

Thank you for sharing this, I had no idea Yoshi P had somewhat touched on this topic already! This totally makes sense that they would be stuck in a bit of a bind due to some coding reasons that are well beyond my knowledge. This is particularly why I suggested something like a "optional purchase" that, even if in any insignificant manor, could help incentivize the process for the devs.

FFXIV is one of the few if not the only game I know of, where I feel that the money that is put into the game directly translates into the quality. Many games of today's age will continuously take the players money with little or no improvement of the game. If Yoshi P himself said that there just isn't enough man power/funding to tackle this problem before Endwalker or early patches of the expansion I would gladly choose to assist financially. Assuming it would even help in the first place.

I think a lot about the addition of classes in Endwalker and how much excited I am to play Sage and collect the weapons! But I know that's going to require me to get rid of a bunch of glamours that I've grinded/put a bunch of hours in to create, and the idea really bums me out :c

It definitely burns me out thinking that I would really have to choose between using these older weapons I've spent hours grinding/looting for or the newer aesthetics that undoubtedly will have to spend hours to acquire only to have to give those up too someday with the lack of Glamour space

Here's a thought:

SE just gives us another 10 glamour plates with the new expansion, then like like jobs+1 plates for each future expansion.

The only thing that makes sense with glamour plates is to tie their unlock to the number of classes and jobs you have unlocked, and that's it. They shouldn't be MSQ rewards, and they shouldn't be available in the store.

Keep it simple, keep it straight forward - exactly like most of the other systems in FFXIV.

Tbh, I'd prefer having an unlockable index of gear similar to the WoW transmog system... which would help IMMENSELY when putting together a glam.

4. Add "Additional Glamour Plates" as a purchasable item in the MogStation (Ex: $5 for 2 plates, $10 for 5 plates. $30 for 25 plates)

Stop asking for more things to pay extra for in a subscription game.

I want more glamour space too. What we have now is woefully inadequate, especially after we add two more jobs. But that space should be made available to everyone. We pay monthly for this, it's not a free-to-play game.

Indeed. But you have to rework the entire item system. Belts are going to removed, so thats a good step.

But it may help to remove all gear with the same 3D modell, making the amount of items lower. Otherwise, the list of items could get really long.
On the other hand, having a book with all gearsets may encourage players to collect them all. Maybe some special gear as reward when you managed to complete x gearsets.

At the moment, glamours are clustered. They are stored in your glamour dresser, retainers, sattle bag, inventory, arsenal and armoire. Good luck to get your gear together xD
