Honestly the amount of fear of griefing does not seem to line up with the narrative of gcbtw.

Something seems off it is as off. :P

Perhaps it's because you assume everybody who disagrees with you believes it's a "Great Community By The Way", and you use that phrase like a curse word?

There is no such narrative coming from Square Enix, but it sure comes up a lot by folks with a, shall we say, less than generous view toward other players.
