There should be other ways to obtain the Field notes.

Adding my voice to the choir. I’m beyond frustrated by spending 150+ minutes in a Bozja instance, killing scorpions and every associated skirmish waiting for For Absent Friends // Of Steel and Flame // Metal Fox Chaos to spawn. Then not getting chosen for the duel, and never getting Sart’s note. Three hours a day for weeks, wasted. And I still need Lyon II from The Dalriada despite well over 50 runs at this point. I’ve been at 48/50 forever, and I’m losing hope.

As others have said, with extremes we get totems. Something so we know all our time and effort aren’t in vain. I’ve never had my spirits so crushed by SE as they are by the RNG and insanely low drop rates of these notes.

I’ve never asked for hard content to get nerfed or drop rates to be buffed, and likely never will again, but the combination of the 150+ minutes to spawn the skirmishes and then the abysmally low drop rates make this utterly soul crushing.

Update: run 49 dropped the Lyon part II notes last week and I am incredibly pleased but I can tell I just got ridiculously lucky. I'm now at run 60 or 63 ish and i'm feeling the same pain trying to get my last note and people saying they keep getting dupe notes from the chest. I hope that the patch on Tuesday has increased drop rate or just the ability to buy my last note. This isn't even fun... I mean I dont enjoy Diablo runs that are 15 mins +. If they dont raise the drop rate for the Dalriada notes I may seriously just need to find a way to get in the Menenius duel and cheese it.

I would welcome this. I've still yet to get Lyon's first set of notes after who knows how many castrum runs. I'd be fine if it was even a large amount of coins to buy notes, because at least the coins you know you're going to get them and they add up over time.

G'day all,
So I'm back again to let you all know that I am now at 106 clears of the Dalriada raid without receiving the mention field note or the raptor mount. I've just been submitting bug reports at this point in the hopes that the devs will wuit burying their heads in the sand with this issue.

The drop rate on the field notes is f***ed and the devs need to fix it. Before you start to berate me about not doing the duels I'm going to stop you right there, I've tried and failed 3 times already, and the people who tell me to do the duels are the same people who abuse me if i fail said duels, saying that I've wasted an opportunity for someone to do it... makes no f***ing sense right, but it happens, to me and to others.

This content isn't fun to do anymore and hasn't been for a while now, how long does this thread got to get before you finally fix things devs. We've all had a blood gut-full of this rot, it's time to pay the piper.

This thread is incredible. Its just page after page of people complaining about grinding the same skirmishes/CEs for hours whilst completely dismissing the existence of 100% drop rate duels.

Are the duels truely so inaccessible to people? I did them all via lost flare cheese. Not the most honourable, but it meant I only had to learn the first few mechanics since each duel only lasted 1 minute.

Are the duels truely so inaccessible to people? I did them all via lost flare cheese. Not the most honourable, but it meant I only had to learn the first few mechanics since each duel only lasted 1 minute.

On the flipside, both of your remaining notes are 100% drop rates from duels, meaning there's zero RNG now: With notoriety, you will be guaranteed to get into a duel after enough attempts, so your time isn't in vain; you are just building the notoriety to get in on each failed attempt. Just dont be queuing up for any non-Sart/Lyon II duels.

He does have a point though. So many people subjecting themselves to 20+ Dal runs when Duels are an infinitely easier route for certain notes. Just gotta learn a few mechanics, learn flare star cheese, and whabam. Even my gf who's not the most amazing at the game has cleared all 6 duels through Flare star.

The issue isn't the grind itself. I don't mind grinding. If they want me to run 25-50 Castrums and Dalriadas then that's fine if I don't want to do the duels. But at least reward the effort being made at the end. I think 50 at MOST is more than enough suffering before a guaranteed drop. The use of excess coins is also a great idea. I don't think asking for an alternate progression path is unreasonable, even if it's a lot longer of a grind. There's plenty of those in this game, especially where relic content is concerned.

The rare drop from skirmishes is one thing, the ones that have a low drop rate from CLL and Dal vs 100% from their duel is an entirely different thing.

It's either subject yourself to RNG, duel cheese and do literally 1 min of mechs, or git gud lol. The duel fields notes are a fair system and I can't believe people are crying about items locked behind difficulty.
With notoriety, it's guaranteed you can eventually get into a duel as well, not like the complete RNG system we had back when Southern Front first released.

The rare drops from skirmishes well yeah good luck with that, that's just MMO RNG mechanics at this point.
