The characters of the players don't follow the rules aniway, they got out of this lifetsyle somehow.
Tbh guiven that males are not many, are kicked out of the house, have a good chance die in their training, live out in the forest alone (where their brothers die), have the "shoot 1rst ask questions later" mentality, take years before returning home just to mate, go out again with adolescents that will probably die in their training, have to train the adolescents, accept the deaths, and still look like a cute disney prince, it's a bit scary lol.

true, i was talking more about people trying to shoehorn their headcanon into the general viera lore we know so far. you can roleplay your character as you wish, your personal character follows his personal lore to a certain degree - for me it gets weird when you try to force your headcanon onto their general lore.

i know what you mean and i understand people might think it doesn‘t add up, and in a real life scenario it wouldn’t make much sense - but, the same can be said about the females. i wouldn‘t imagine seclusive amazonian warrior women to look like victoria secret supermodels with make up on. same for female au ra, they are fierce warriors but still look like cutesy uwu women.

Ah, but maybe we’re going about this wrong. Maybe our WoL male Viera didn’t come straight from the forest?
But decended from female Viera who had already left, and thus any male children they have from then on wouldn’t have gone through all that (and thus look softer and smoother, and less scarred).

We know races in this game can interbreed, and they usually take after the mother. It’s recorded that when an Au Ra ruby princess had a child with a hyur, the child ended up being an Au Ra (albeit with fewer scales). During a Halloween event, a Miqo’te girl had a Miqo’te mother, and a hyur father, and at the gold saucer, there’s a Hyur child with a Roegadyn father.

You could make this your head cannon for any male Viera you see that you don’t think is tough looking enough :P

It’s recorded that when an Au Ra ruby princess had a child with a hyur, the child ended up being an Au Ra (albeit with fewer scales). During a Halloween event, a Miqo’te girl had a Miqo’te mother, and a hyur father, and at the gold saucer, there’s a Hyur child with a Roegadyn father.

That's fanon that is not based in the actual lore in the game. I don't remember a miqo'te with a hyur father from an event, but Koji already said that the hyur with a roegadyn dad is adopted. The only confirmed interracial children are the 4 half-Garleans and Hilda. 1 of those half-Garleans proved that "kids being the race of the mom" has no basis in fact since they look 100% Garlean except their third eye is black instead of white. The au ra story is a story from hundreds of years ago or more so we have no way of telling if that's actually true, especially since the story and the underwater au ra themselves, are based on a Japanese folktale.

Plus, if we're going by what Matsuno said on Twitter that FFXIV and FFXII viera are the same settings, then viera interracial relationships are considered abominations in their culture. If Rabanastre has had viera in it for a thousand years and no one has seen a male viera there, then they're obviously not mixing with the locals. While the races can interbreed, the writers of the game have stated several times that they generally just don't. Of the 6 confirmed interracial kids including the au ra, only half of those were the products of a consenting relationship.

That's what i was trying to say, the WoL don't count into the lore, or just not entirely. There's no way to tell where he was born ect.

Yeah a half Viera half Au ra sounds funny haha i'll keep that in mind xD
