Will male Viera also get access to some of the unlockable hairstyles or only female Viera?

My guess is they will get the unlockable hairstyles as well, would be strange if not, but I guess they could pull out the "ran out of time" excuse and put it to the future.

If he's "not girly" and he's "masculine", then it doesn't make sense calling him androgynous.

It's a word that means it's hard to tell which gender the person is.

Yeah I agree. I think it just boils down to peoples views on what men and women are supposed to look like. In todays world where there is alot of selfexpression and being a beautiful man isnt a bad thing it is honestly a little strange to see this discussion take place. They look like young men, young pretty men, sure, and I could probably find some girls that look like them too, but I dont think looking at the male viera I immediately think "girls".

But this is probably the same discussion as with femroes, to me they look like bodybuilder women and in some cases like dragqueens or even male, still people insist they are very feminine. No they really arent, and that is completely ok. If I want a very feminine looking character I can pick the other races.

To be honest I am surprised there weren't as much outrage over their height as I expected.
Maybe the height got drowned by the appearance of the M Viera.

I gotta give it to SE to successfully avoid the height outrage. XD

In the case of Noctis yes, i might be wrong. He has strong jaw x)
But what i wanted to say is : when i talk about someone androgynous i look at the shape of the face, without counting the hair, eyelashes or anything that can be changed.

Guive to Cloud the same hair as Lightning, some makeup and he'll look very feminine. Yet with his current hair and absence of makeup he looks masculine.
Viera have the same type of face but have thick eyelashes by default that guive them a more feminine look without any chance of adjustment. With many of the haircuts being cute, achieving something similar as Cloud is more difficult. It's close sure, but when i tried with my character there are moments where he just looks really close to a girl :


I'm not saying viera shouldn't be girly, it's just a nice idea for ppl who want something closer to Squall or Cloud. I don't think it's something that breaks the lore or anything.
Even for the beard a more masculine face is needed, if it's too mutch on the girl side it will look weird. Unless you really want to have a girl with a beard, then it's ideal.

I think they are going to give Hrothgar and female Viera some of the modern hairstyles, couple of them. Male Viera won't get any other hairstyle, until 7.0

They are similar and all are androgynous that's true.
But i look more on what's on their face et how is the hair. Cloud doesnt have the chad look of highlanders sure but i wouldn't say he is girly with his usual outfit and hair. Meanwile the dude in the bottom right (with blue hair) is more feminine than masculine, i don't know the character but it really looks like used some makeup to look fabulous.

It's mostly the things on top that make some more masculine than the others. Making only cute shapes for the eyes, big eyelashes (that you can't get rid of), some extra-thick eyelashes, more makeup for safety and almost only cute hair on top of an already androgynous face is a bit much. Not even 1 face gets rid of thoose things. Having a face without thoose things would have been nice for all the people who wanted viera just as mutch as the others but didn't wanted the girly stuff.

I mean the players with female characters are getting jealous of the males wtf. The don't seem jealous of male miqote, and they are androgynous as well, they just have a larger build (and it's not like there's a big difference).

EDIT: For the cold look, male viera look just too cute so for me it's a bit weak.
