Viera and Hrothgar Megathread

And I dunno man, I think they're equally as feminine as most of the Viera I have seen people make on the benchmark so far, even when including non face 1 Viera. (these guys aren't face one)
And you can give them some pretty cold eyes.

Honestly, when I first started playing FF14, I was surprised by how masculine the male characters were in this game (minus the beards), I was expecting more options that would make characters look how the usual FF protagonists look.

They are similar and all are androgynous that's true.
But i look more on what's on their face et how is the hair. Cloud doesnt have the chad look of highlanders sure but i wouldn't say he is girly with his usual outfit and hair. Meanwile the dude in the bottom right (with blue hair) is more feminine than masculine, i don't know the character but it really looks like used some makeup to look fabulous.

It's mostly the things on top that make some more masculine than the others. Making only cute shapes for the eyes, big eyelashes (that you can't get rid of), some extra-thick eyelashes, more makeup for safety and almost only cute hair on top of an already androgynous face is a bit much. Not even 1 face gets rid of thoose things. Having a face without thoose things would have been nice for all the people who wanted viera just as mutch as the others but didn't wanted the girly stuff.

I mean the players with female characters are getting jealous of the males wtf. The don't seem jealous of male miqote, and they are androgynous as well, they just have a larger build (and it's not like there's a big difference).

EDIT: For the cold look, male viera look just too cute so for me it's a bit weak.

To be fair, we were jealous of male Miqo’te, but because they had more wiggly ear emotes :P

But yeah, I know what you mean. Like the coloured eyelashes, they would be nice. My own eyelashes have blond/light brown on them irl, and I would love to have that on my character too.

I know they’re not releasing any more races in the future, but that doesn’t mean that the races won’t get further updates, but we’ll have to wait and see.

A little bit sparse for my taste, but not too bad, maybe we’ll get those options in the future, hopefully. The devs are already aware of how the player base wants the WoL stubble, so maybe they’ll release it, as well as other, better beards :P

Wasn't this thread about hairstyles and customization for hrothgars and vieras? Why are people talking about garleans? Anyways. Seeing as yoshi said we would be getting more hairstyles and they already showed the goldsaucer hairstyle on that femviera NIN, I am guessing that we will be getting the modern aesthetics hairstyles, at least some of them (some clip badly with the ears, like the 2b hair). Since male viera seem to have only 8 racehairstyles (+8 actually great variations of those hairstyles) I also guess there will be no more racespecific hairstyles added for femviera at this time.
I hope I am wrong and they do add more racespecific hairstyles since I loved the male hairstyles (especially the soft curls and the long one with braids).
I was considering switching over to male viera but....I love my femviera so she will stay.

Will male Viera also get access to some of the unlockable hairstyles or only female Viera?

If he's "not girly" and he's "masculine", then it doesn't make sense calling him androgynous.

It's a word that means it's hard to tell which gender the person is.

He looks like a young man, not an ambiguous person who could be man or woman.
