There's a massive difference between making an entirely new race based on another's existing coding, and simply having an oversized pimple on your forehead, which even most NPC cover up anyways. That said, yeah, not the time or place to talk about them.

Back on topic, I'd like to see concept art of new Hroth hairstyles, if there's any, or if they'll simply separate them from the faces. I'd be perfectly fine with having at least 8 hairstyles instead of a whooping 2, but it's my pipe dream they add the ones they originally rejected, specially the "Sokka" one

Oh? Can a custom garlean race not have an "entirely different body type, facial structure, animations and overall personality" from other races? As it stands female viera look to be just using a scaled version of the midlander body (Even the same hempen set), and male viera also just have a slightly modified midlander body - with hips (and bad posture). I would never suggest using a mod, nor am I requesting playable Garleans. They were simply an example, in relation to the addition of viera. Lore is seemingly used as a reason for the exclusion of things some players might not want added, however, when there is something some might want added, lore is seemingly no longer in the way of that addition.

Never said or meant to imply that you do. Just was replying because I would be probably in the minority one of the few people that would be in favor of more costumes added to mimic traits from certain races. Cause I do find such things as good enough. :P

Lore is fickle like that it is just seems like it counts when it is a convenience.

I agree that at minimum adding a Garlean third eye accessory would be enough only because that is what they have done when adding new Garleans in. The only Garlean with a unique body and face is Cid, for all others some do have a unique face but most just use existing Hyur and Elezen faces and all use Hyur but mostly Elezen bodies.

That said I would like to see Garleans get added but we already know that once they finishing adding Vieras and Hrothgars they will probably never add another race.

Wasn't this thread about hairstyles and customization for hrothgars and vieras? Why are people talking about garleans? Anyways. Seeing as yoshi said we would be getting more hairstyles and they already showed the goldsaucer hairstyle on that femviera NIN, I am guessing that we will be getting the modern aesthetics hairstyles, at least some of them (some clip badly with the ears, like the 2b hair). Since male viera seem to have only 8 racehairstyles (+8 actually great variations of those hairstyles) I also guess there will be no more racespecific hairstyles added for femviera at this time.
I hope I am wrong and they do add more racespecific hairstyles since I loved the male hairstyles (especially the soft curls and the long one with braids).
I was considering switching over to male viera but....I love my femviera so she will stay.

Yes. Which is why I only used it as an example in relation to viera (a mere reference actually), originally lore discussion in regards to their addition, and their given look and customization options. I'd like more, or better, appearance options. I didn't think male viera fit the aesthetic described in their lore, and wish we had more options like stubble, scars, older or more masculine face(s), etc.

To be fair, viera are more like fantasy wood elves than the elezen. Viera live in communion with the forest, have greatly increased lifespan, have a different world view, etc. You never see elves with stubble, scars, and older, more masculine faces.

What we got isn’t exactly what I was hoping for either, but it still makes sense in the context of men who stop aging only 6-8 years after they became identifiable as male and stay that way for 300 more years.

I have said many times in the past I prefer my male characters with no facial hair in the vast majority of games, several times actually. If they weren't to have any facial hair like DnD (full blood) elves, it wouldn't bother me. However, we have been given "facial hair" for male viera, and I can't say I like it that much, in this case I think stubble would have been better than what we were given, or other options in general. Elves do have older, and more masculine faces. They definitely look like men, especially western depictions of them. Male viera I do think look like males, they just look very young, and can be made to look very feminine with the seemingly permanent mascara they have on - some eye options have a ton of mascara on (one of the face 2 options especially).

Sure, to an extent, but I think we should have had more options as well for players who wanted a slightly older, or a more masculine male viera. Like even just one face of this type even, with different options. A different hairstyle maybe. The hairline is a bit too low on at least a couple of them anyway. Since SE is starting to make hairstyles for female viera now, I do wonder what/when hairs will be converted or made for males

It's the detail that makes them more feminine, shorter eyelashes are not even possible.

I have seen someone compare male viera to classic ff character and i think it's true. They really look similar and maybe what made me like face 1 way more than the others. But classic ff character don't look as feminine as viera do. Firion, Cloud and Squall for example all have a cold/hardened look fitting for a warrior with a young and adrogynous face. That's what make them more manly or baddass imo and could have been a great addition for vieras.

For beards well i think it's just hard to make a good looking one without a older face. Since many faces have big anime eyes, the beard will just look weird. Doesn't have to go very far tho. Something closer to this guy could have worked better for face 4 :

I really want to understand who actually decided they looked like a miqo....Lik...for the blue hrothgar with the pony tail...I can *kinda* see the miqo face (it looks like a more mature miqo face...), but literally...what? Theres a meme that Miqo'te are just teenage hrothgars on twitter xD
