A lot of people have said they'd be fine with a leasing system if it meant the demo timer was scrapped.

SE is a business first. The housing model as is keeps subscriptions rolling. I don't think we should ask SE to give up revenue in this way any more than we can ask SE to add 100 wards and not pass the cost along to us.

And on top of the other one. That's its ok for players to take breaks between patches which is a quote that comes up time and time again. Evencin an interview around Easter time this year.

How long a break should be varies with everyone person. Some feel 3 months is a break, others feels 2 weeks is enough time away. When he says take a break I don't think he means disappear completely until the next patch.

Explain how RNG of a lottery system is going to fix housing? Explain how its going to ensure players who have waited years are not going to get screwed and watch it give a house to someone who has only played 6 months? Explain how its going to keep things fair for all players no matter how long they have played? Give every player assurance they will get a house so long as they meet the requirements, Assure them rng in your beloved lottery wont screw them over for months or years. Lets see the big witty brain of truth you got answer all this.

No excuses, No saying you have no clue or don't know, no saying SE needs to figure it out. You been pushing this idea now make players believe its a good idea show them all that Hype you have for it. Time to step up and address the cons of a lottery system and ease people concerns.

SE is not likely to implement this weird fixation of yours. Also, I don't think you realize just how much gil people have. I'm watching people buy relocations or FC houses for anywhere from 60 million (for a lvl 6 bare bones FC with a small house in a weird location attached) to 800 million+ (for a large house in a desirable location). Housing hoarders have a lot of gil, that's how they got where they are now. Implementing this weird fixation of yours wouldn't be so much as a blip on their radar.

No, but it makes it harder (mechanically) to maintain the ward of FCs, while largely being invisible to the average person. There's plenty of other MMOs that have housing systems that don't screw over the players this badly that have rent. Given how badly SE has screwed up housing, maybe it's time to start bringing in some of the mechanics that people on this forum hate (likely because it would be invisible to the average player but screw them over) because those mechanics may actually help solve the issue.

That's the main reason why I want to see a rent timer, as getting rid of all the weird timers (especially the ones that keep getting paused and exacerbate the supply issue) would make the housing system far better overall. Sadly, too many have been traumatized by the current system to see that point.

thats generally exactly what he means as its typically stated in response to the big content droughts players experience between patches..

expecting a dev to add systems that support there words isnt unreasonalble. so adding systems that let players take breaks and keep there house until the next patch is not an unreasonable request. and if its keeps his old promise of housing not being tied to subsctription status then it'll only increase his credibility

Well the Devs have backed themselves into a corner with one way out, the way they don't want to take.This is a double edge sword people want to take a break and keep their house but have unused homes freed up. That's the issue with a rent system it would be affordable to all players which just makes it more easy to abuse. Its a case of you can't have your cake and eat it too with this housing system. I have never actually said this on the forum but..I detest the current system I hate seeing others players not able to get homes. I don't like or want players with or without homes punished just so the other side can benefit.
