They have 2 years in between expansions to work on this. Not even really asking for even 3 quest maybe 2?!?! 1!??! I get the cost effective reason to just lump every tank into one group but I can promise you no matter what anyone says it is a massive mistake. It just filters down through the community. It is a top down way of doing MMO design that is a large mistake.
The most important thing that you will do in FF14 is pick your job and what you want to play. I picked PALADIN not Tank archetype. Even after posting this comments not even sure how many weeks ago YET again no which one of these FF14 vs WoW videos I watch they are constantly amazed FF14 has job quest with actual story lines.
Gutting this part of WoW was a massive mistake there and it will be a massive mistake here. I get a lot of people do not care right now because FF14 is riding high on subs but it is riding high on subs for a good reason and that is because they have no abandoned the RPG elements of this MMO.
We cannot become so jaded as FF14 veterans that we want everything streamlined to the point for time convenience to forget that this still does need to get treated like an RPG even if you disagree with the writing. I cannot stress this enough. The reason we got Shadowbringers was because the person who wrote the Dark Knight quest line got her chance to shine with an outstanding series of writing. If she had just written Generic tank archetype Quest #1 it would have BEEN FORCED to be generic writing that was boring and covered all of the other tank classes not the struggle between your inner darkness.
My biggest feedback to the developers of these jobs is go out and watch the Youtube videos of EVERYONE praising the job quest in FF14. I cannot find a video and I have looked with people saying this sucks. The only people I see saying this are 7 year vets of FF14 that want to rush an alt job to max.
