They aren't completely wrong though. We don't know everything. I'm pretty sure we can guess what the outcome will be, but I can't say that with 100% certainty. At best...maybe 98.9%.![]()
We don't know which is right but its also obvious. Lotto system would not be needed if they could meet demand. Only promise a lotto system makes is you will get a house when rng decides be that a day, a month or 2 years down the road.

Note: Taking advice from a players alt, is like taking advice from a voice in a dark room. Criticism is a two way street remember that!!

Right, so here we are back at the beginning of this vicious cycle. lol Past experience has dictated that they won't do anything, but we don't know if they will do anything or not this time because it's a brand new system we know almost nothing about. However, they have done nothing to alleviate the actual problem so far, so...back to the start and it begins again. All signs point toward complacency, but we don't know enough yet. My head hurts.
I know I don't. lol
I speak from a personal perspective I have a fc and personal yet still search for empty plots. Partly for fun and for some friends. Here on Lamia I have seen at best in one week maybe 15 total plots open. Now thinking about how many FC's wants homes how many players want personals...then throwing the idea of letting a lotto decide. Pure cringe, This hole thing is like trying to squeeze a square peg in a round hole..Right, so here we are back at the beginning of this vicious cycle. lol Past experience has dictated that they won't do anything, but we don't know if they will do anything or not this time because it's a brand new system we know almost nothing about. Look at the Cacpot its a lottery and their are players who have played it daily since release and never won the jack pot. Ask yourselves do you want that kind of absurd rng choosing who gets a house?? I don't..

So then what's SE's motivation for dropping this "lack of information"?
YoshiP isn't dumb. He's not going to talk just for the sake of talking.
If we're given information that something is going to be happening, then they want us to be talking about it. They're probably looking for our responses and ideas as they finalize how the systems will work.
If we sit here and play dumb because "not enough information", we could end up with another heavily flawed system getting exploited left and right.
Recurring fees won't screw over the land barons. They're earning more than enough gil by actively operating the workshops and garden patches they have access to.
Again, see above. While I thought I didn't need to explain money management, by turning an asset into a liability (in other words, by attaching a perpetual cost to a house in terms of upkeep) it's going to make a lot of the people holding large swaths of land question if they want to retain those properties, or if they should unload them because what was an asset is now a fiscal liability.
Recurring fees are a deterrent to those who are not using their plot, not a deterrent to those who get rich from having them.
SE would need to address the multiple house ownership separate. Recurring fees won't do anything on that front.
They've paused the timer only for NA at times. They've paused it only for JP at times. They've paused it for all regions at times. You can confirm this by scrolling back through Lodestone notices for the past 6 years.
They do have some control over where at least this one aspect of the game works.

You say that as if I'm not aware of the stakes. I was simply giving credit where it was due. I haven't been shy about my opinions on this idea. I hate it, and I hate the fact that naive and/or desperate players are actively supporting it. I'm pretty sure anyone with half a brain could predict the outcome. But I'm also keeping an open mind, at least somewhat. Anything is possible, even if it's unlikely. Almagnus' ideas are abominations at best, but they were correct in stating that we don't know everything. Still, I'd like to know sooner as opposed to later. So then what's SE's motivation for dropping this "lack of information"?
