Asmon is socially awkward as hell from I can tell (I don't regularly watch his streams but I have looked at him recently). He also doesn't intentionally misgender though from what I can tell. Was a mistake by him to make that comment though he probably won't admit it.

It was part of the conversation you were referreing to. I linked the whole conversation where someone with pronouns in her bio then challenged his position.

They is the correct non-gender singular pronoun. It's starting to be recognised by style manuals as the correct way to default but yes he was also wrong to say what he did. He won't admit it though I'm guessing.

It's still transphobia, but I believe the term is moreso microagression. As someone in multiple LGBTQ communities, the general consensus is that "people are free to be who they want and fighting with eachother when we have more important things to handle in regards to our status in society achieves nothing". It's like how transphobic tendencies in the Olympics recently led to the ban of some cis women for how their bodies are.

I think part of the problem is that you're either running into children who've yet to learn full maturity but are being accelerated in so much aggressive behaviors that are rampant across all of society right now (where everything is politics and everyone has to fight instead of having conversations; ie, my gender isn't politics, my gender is me, but for some reason that upsets some religious fanatics who have control of the country I live in), or you're running into people trying to invent someone for you to get mad at. Quite possible that it happened with today's situation as well! But who knows.
I think as well, that you're calling it a hivemind, says that you never had a very high opinion of LGBT stuff to begin with, but I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt. All that you really should be aware of is that people have been gaslit for many decades, if not centuries, and people are getting tired. It's the same as how we're told we can't do anything about climate change as the world is falling apart around us. But someone could just say "No it isn't" and so on.

Just be, more accepting of others, more understanding, and try to work together and understand. Don't get discouraged.

So as like Asmongold i'm a WoW veteran who's been playing nonstop for 2 months now. 501 hours in and i'm in ShB.

I've been loving the game to the death and it's been totally amazing experience. Only thing i've pretty much had bad experience is the community.. Even if it's been generally lot nicer, i feel there's lot more shit-talking behind backs and scheming going around than there is in WoW. You can be direct and confront people, arguing is normal. So far in 2 FC's i've been in officers talked bad things behind my back and tried to find excuse to kick me. There was 3 simps and 1 girl who was FC leader. They had other officers too, but they didn't have any idea about this scheme that was going on behind. So things escalated and they admitted being in wrong there, but it left the fc anyways because i can't handle things being done like 15 century Europe but governed by teenage girls, as i'm being adult person myself. I don't understand why you can't say straight to someone if they got problem with you, but have to do this.. childish behaviour GoT like fakesmiles i'm your friend thing.

Asmongold is pretty reasonable and really nice guy, as you could see if you watched his streams. It's the quantity of his viewers are so huge, that even the 5% idiots is actual number you can see. Most of his viewers are like me, who just enjoy watching him and talking about things. He's gonna do great things for the game, imagine the marketing value he brings with 1 million views on Youtube. Just let him in and give him a chance, guy just wants good game to enjoy like the rest of us.

or like ZeplaHQ you guys need to break your bubble a bit. Community can't grow otherwise and most of us WoW veterans are 30 year old dudes like me, who aren't interested about drama and just like to play the game and have fun. We're more direct i suppose, but it means we don't do things behind your back or give fake smiles or fake opinions about things.

Conversation took like 2 mins. It wasn't like suspended one hour talk about the thing. I came home from my gym, and mentioned "squats done!" other guy replied he also did them and that his legs hurt so much. I told him to bear with it that you know man it does wonders for your sex life. Improves blood circulation. That's it. Does that sound unreasonable to you?

If this is the conversation, while I still think the comment unwarranted, it's less of an issue than how you initially described it initially.

you're right, I don't have a particularly high opinion of the LGBT movement - or rather, very vocal people in it, having had plenty of bad experiences with those very vocal people who used it to abuse, groom and gaslight other people and avoid responsibility of their behaviour by hiding behind being semi-famous figures in said communities and criticising them meant you'd get banned for homophobia or other things, or just straight up having a pocket mod or mod powers for no reason and thus they could flaunt said power around to silence anyone that disagreed
I also don't like the oversexualisation of pride events in my country, that children are in direct contact with hard kink/fetish content there and that that's perfectly okay - because I think it's not
I'm gay myself, but those things are what keep me from being a vocal supporter of the lgbt movement

there's also the commercialisation of pride stuff/month, which I find downright disgusting, especially because 99% of those companies did nothing for lgbt rights before or actively were against equalisation before - but now they're all totally pro-lgbt and they're totally not after your money - and how so many people eat this capitalistic shit up while they hate on those very same companies (and half the time capitalism) in the 11 other months of the year

I've taken a melatonin at this point and am too tired to get my own long response but the problem isn't the LGBT community, but the greater human community, I feel. It's also just that we live in an era of change right now, and change can be messy. Hopefully we all come out for the better.
