The great streamer Asmongold is joining FFXIV

Many of his griefers are _very_ experienced FF14 players. They are maxlevel, have high level mounts, savage gear etc. I doubt that many of those FF14 players are Asmongold fans.

Of course he's on my server. :/ One can only blame all the hype that's been generated over him coming on for most of what's happening right now. Otherwise no one would care. I still don't.

This is what happens when you drink deep of your own celebrity. I hope things die down quickly so he can enjoy the game without the papparazzi. Someone should let him know about turing off effects and putting himself on busy to help alieviate some of the stalkers/griefers.

I feel like this tomfoolery is just going to generate bad press for the game. Are we perfect as a community? No. But his presence is generating an extreme and abnormal reaction, IMO. Too bad he chose the salt server. XD

I'm watching the stream and he keeps mentioning how troublesome it is trying to play with people harassing him. His chat is constantly complaining about it too, since you can't see the actual gameplay when he fights or runs around, only a mob of players with endgame mounts who troll his quest kills.

Watching people one-shot everything is super annoying.
It was expected but ffs let him play the damn game.

Edit: Imo, just for PR and marketing purposes.
I actually think SE should have GM's watching him and porting away people doing that and warning them, it should constitute as harassment.
It just looks terrible and is boring to watch, it reflects negatively on the game and the community.

Most of his viewers don't actually play WoW, I am pretty sure he has talked about this before.
They probably used to but *many* have moved on but still watch his Streams.

The worst of it has passed. Initially a large group of people were getting on their biggest mounts to hide quests destinations, tagging mobs so he couldn't kill them, and other things. There's also a rumour being suggested on the r/ffxiv discord that a discord has been set up just to mess with him and there was chatter in zone chat on how people should impede his progress. It's pathetic behaviour.

He did say he would have reported those people because of how annoying and distracting it was, but with the ridiculous number of people, he would be busy reporting people for a couple of hours to list them all, which means he wouldn't be actually playing the content, and his main goal is to play FFXIV. A shame, really.
