Would you support a Final Fantasy XIV "Classic" option like WoW with 1.0?

Zero interest in actually playing it but it would be nice if the story content was actually folded into the current game somehow. Even if that was limited to story moments and cutscenes being put into NG+ as just something you can view without any actual gameplay.

I would not. The original 1.0 was not even finished. There would be no long term gain for them to keep it active besides curiosity and people's pc might even still struggle to run it to this day.

That said, I did enjoy the little throwback to it from the Rising event we had. I wouldn't mind more stuff like that in the future, like recreating the past story events that have happened. If we are going to play 1.0, I think having some echo flashback solo duty instance thing would be fun experience. Maybe even dedicate an entire Eureka/Bozja zone to it, queuing up into the past to stop some time shenanigan force, a Lunar Alexander or something, that is trying to mess with it and maybe while making ourselves some new relic weapons in the process. This way they could retell the events of 1.0 in their entirety and we can explore Carteneau before it became ground zero for Dalamud and a subsequent pvp battle ground. It could even have unique interactions to people with Legacy characters.

But no, I don't think an entire one to one restart of the old 1.0 is a good idea.

Hi, a "fixed" 1.x-version would be nice. I would give a try. But they should not release the original buggy 1.x-version. I have seen some videos on YT. Even the mobs do not attack you because the game is so buggy. You can use your range attacks and you will be safe because the mobs do nothing. You have also huge maps but the assets in those maps are basically copy and paste etc.

I'd rather it be a condensed version of the later 1.2 series story, maybe only accessible during "The Rising" event, since that kinda celebrates the rebirth of the game.

...Basically if they're going to invest dev time into it, it'd be nice to make something of it other than "oh btw you can do this now in NG+". Maybe some annual loot rewards.

Definitely not.

FF14 1.0 and WoW classic are completely different. One was an overwhelming failure that nearly resulted in the end of ff14 entirely if Yoshi hadn't come along and salvaged it. The other was an overwhelming success that influenced the entire MMO genre.

WoW Classic is currently doing well because Retail WoW is falling apart. Retail ff14 is at a high point and doing better than ever.

There would be no reason at all for a Classic FF14.

It was folded into the current game. You make use of The Echo to see what happened, you do dungeons, trials and raids that were once in 1.0 in ARR. The rest is presented as legend or lore (where it was salvageable).

If they could add the 1.0 to 1.23 story to New Game + I would watch that in a second. It would actually make complete sense to add it lol
