I mean yeah. They need to do that so people don't rush through everything all at once, then complain that there's nothing to do. At the end of the day XIV is an mmo and they want you to keep playing.Hi, if you actively play WoW then you will also not have problems to get the reputation, soul ash, rescued souls, whatever to unlock the content. The point is, such artificial limits are to control how fast a player can consume the content. Maybe those limits do not feel annoying for long term FF14 players. But i come from WoW Classic. And i have hit the item level wall very quickly and it felt very disturbing for me. I am at maximal level but then not really maximal level etc. It feels like Square Enix tries to protect the players from themself.
Cheers
There's already a WoW parody video of what XIV players fear would happen, and Asmon himself agreed it's spot on

Nixxiom is one of my favorite content creators. lol They are great at making parodies. But yeah, this probably isn't completely inaccurate. There's already a WoW parody video of what XIV players fear would happen, and Asmon himself agreed it's spot on

Considering some worlds are already rather full, I'm guessing that the big hordes of rabid fans won't be too much depending on which world he chooses to play on.There's already a WoW parody video of what XIV players fear would happen, and Asmon himself agreed it's spot on
Although, once the cross datacenter is rolled out, I see those rabid fans being perfect stresstesters....

There's also a cap for each zone, so even if there's a lot of traffic it can only get so high before a zone gets locked.

On the positive side, I'm pretty sure subscribers get priority access on the queue. We won't have to worry about 10000 free trials suddenly logging in getting in the way with a paying player.
Unless they bring the entire system down.
